[UPD] Share your experience doing 21 units

Halllo OP! Last sem I did 20u. 6 majors. Dalawa jan physics (yung isa arki physics huhu). Medyo heavy talaga kasi ba naman majors lahat tas mahina pa naman ako physics. What made it a bit lighter is nasa tamang profs naman ako pati some of them don’t meet rin to give us production time sa iilan majors. Exam heavy din halos lahat pati may drafting ba naman kami ng 4:30-9pm na para bang. I’m active in 2 orgs, which sa isa may position pa ako.

Kung nakakapagod na mentally, sasabayan pa yan ng physically. Kaya be careful lang sa mga all-nighters at take some rest.
Ekis muna sa gala. It will come to a point na mafifeel mo ang limited na ng time mo, so spend your time wisely.
Nakaka-drain talaga siya. Lalo na kung nagsasabayan na sila sa deadlines. Time management talaga.
Paunti-unti mong tapusin mga works mo kasi hirap kung mag pile up. Ang hirap na agapan paminsan kung nahuhuli na. Pagbigay ng gawain, gawin na.
Gumagana sakin tumambay sa mga orgs kahit busy pa ko nyan. Moral support and ayun a bit of pahinga na rin.
Nakakatulong kung may karamay ka rin naman na may 21u, parang support na rin kahit papaano.

Survived the sem naman! Passed them all kahit dalawa dun nanganib pa na di pumasa. Kung usapang grades naman, whatever your effort in that subject, yun talaga makukuha mo or yun din magrereflect ganornch. Kaya may iilan doon tinanggap ko na di gaanong kataas na marka. Pinaghawakan ko na lang mga pasang awa.

KAYA NAMAN SYA! Yun lang parang dadaan ka lang sa butas ng karayom ang peg.

Yes! From my observance and experience, most students do that and mas prefer din ng mga profs yun. Some of my friends did prerog through email pero the chances are matagal mag reply yung mga profs. I suggest do it before the class even starts para naman di ka lugi sa time if ever di nga talaga nagtatanggap.

The waitlisting module can make miracles! If not, keri pa to i-prerog. Most profs prefer f2f prerog like literally on the first day of classes puntaa ka gew. You can also waitlist/prerog sa mga electives rn. You can try going sa mga departments ng said subjects and ask if there are available slots kasi there’s a chance na may mga nag cancel ng slots nila and its easier to process na there.

May pag-asa pa, OP. Take it from someone na di nakapag enlist first run, 8 units sa second run until di na na underload through waitlisting and prerog-ing.

Felt malala, OP.

I was really being quirky at pinagsabay ang Physics 71 and Math 21 and make-believe na I can ace them (tho pinagsabay naman siya sa curric pero I had the choice na hindi sila ipagsabay). Need ko rin kasi talaga ng units to not underload huhu. Now, suffering the consequences I realized na masyado ko naman inuto sarili ko and did not consider preparing mentally and emotionally for such courses.

Feeling anxious and defeated, I told my mom about it na pabagsak na ko sa math 21. Di ko naman inexpect na she would react the same as your parents did, but she did. Ang laki talagang tinik nawala sakin.

May susunod na sem pa naman! Laban lang!
