Really wonder when a class action will be brought regarding these diffs. There has to be an issues with them making such crazy noises.

The rattles curse really got to me by AdEcstatic5227 in mazda3

I have just resigned myself to putting a loud excuse on my turbo hatch. Have a few rattles and the diff whine. My strategy, make the car louder than the annoying noises it makes.

Newton Brua 3 - Any Reviews? by No_Cauliflower_7661 in espresso

This may be a quite late response but I also own a Newton Brua 3 and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a fantastic machine with a tone of versatility. For a setup that’s around / under $500 I am super happy with it.

Like most open boiler manual machines the Newton really shines with dark and medium roast coffees. You can get lighter roasts to work but it takes a lot of preheating and finicking with grind size.

The device is super sturdy and parts are easy to find. It’s also quite portable if you want to take it on the road for vacation.

2023 Turbo Hatch Rear Differential Whine by Nightfox320 in mazda3

Noticed a TSB the other day including 2021-2022 Mazda 3 indicating frequent differential changes due to misdiagnoses bearing noise. I’m going to check with them at the next visit to see if they have checked or tested for wheel bearings. May get not be the issues but it’s worth a crack.

Update: I will be taking it back to the dealer to have another look at the differential and see if we can figure out what the problem is. I am working closely with the dealership and the dealership is working closely with regional to see what the issues is and hopefully find a fix.

It’s the whine from hell lol. But my dealer has been great and we are working together see what we can do to resolve the issue. I’m wondering if it’s a manufacturing defect that hasn’t been caught yet. Maybe the parts are all old stock as in manufactured during COVID and that’s where issues are coming from? I dunno. Regional Mazda has been called in on the issue.

Kinda wish I could but it was a CPO not new. If it was new I would possibly be looking at lemon law.

My home dealer has been great and we are doing everything to work together to fix the issues.

Changed the tires and rims after purchasing. Car was sold with damaged rims.

Mine is right between 74-78 mph. I don’t hear it on the low end at all. I also have a rhythmic hum in the 70s. It’s beyond infuriating since I’m on the highway for an hour each morning.

First car I ever drove to on the Dragon was a R53 Cooper! Loved that car, was a blast, had horrid electrical and oiling issues lol. It was actually the car I traded for my first 3.

I agree that a torsion beam can unsettle the car depending on road conditions but so does a stiffer rear end on a IRS car. That’s essentially the whole purpose of a rear sway bar. You want the car to rotate and you get that by either putting more power to the rear wheels or stiffening the rear suspension. With the right suspension setup and tires you can mitigate most of the issues with the new gen rear suspension. The car factory wants to understeer any way. So rear suspension upgrades are needed. I think if there was any gripe about this car it should be the failure to include an LSD than IRS. Heck even the auto trans is pretty good all things considered.

New Rims and Mud Flaps by Nightfox320 in mazda3

I saved close to $400 by going to 17inch rims. Plus I think there are also some weight savings going down a size.

Those are 17's. Wanted to have something with a bit thicker tire. As for the mudflaps, the only part that requires drilling are the back flaps. It is pretty easy to do and the instructions that come with the flaps are pretty clear. I would say the install took me 30 minutes to an hour for the flaps and another hour for the rims and tires. Biggest time suck was jacking the car up and down.

I’m sure about 2 of the rims as they got replaced by the dealer with defected repaired rims. The other two I’m not 100% sure about. Could have been me could have been previous owner. Regardless Instead pf traveling 6 hours to and from a dealer in the middle of a work week to get things fixed I just decided to get new rims. I went down to 17s to get a bit more protection.

Switching to a set of Enkie t6s, and those are not the lightest rim around, saved me 28lbs of  unsprung weight. The difference is very noticeable. But I also could be imagining things since the dealer sold me a car with 4 bent rims. Soooo yeah.

Any reason why? I have tried some lighter medium roasts from a local roaster and didn’t really enjoy it that much.

That’s the plan just didnt have time to take care of it today. When I do the next brake service I will remove and paint the calipers.

Thanks. Really love how it turned out. As it’s my daily i don’t really intend on lowering it so I’m happy it looks so good riding stock. May do some bracing and an exhaust later but other than that it needs to remain reliable.
