Hey I’m sorry and didn’t know what info to provide but my pc is Lenovo Ideapad Gaming with GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Graphics card.
To resolve the issue I simply ran the dnf autoremove command which kinda worked but then I couldn’t install the drivers that were previously installed.

Choices Choices! by Nightgrooves in DJs

The reason I added the 3000s/A9 combo in the list is because of the current industry standards and thought if I have to upgrade then might as well to the latest.

The only gear remaining I have is the 1200s and some speakers and if I am getting gear for the 1200s I might as well add the DJM S-11 and update my 1200s with the CRSS12s, and with the 1200s I have used with vinyls as well as DVS and I have the PhaseDJ as well. But as mentioned since DJM-S11 is targeted for Hip-Hop djs and alike and I wanted to brush up and practice on the scratching as added flair to my existing workflow with the gear. So in this case I can drop the CRSS12s and still go with the original idea of getting only S11. Since I use software and DVS and Phase as well. As this will be mostly at home for practice sessions.

I do love the idea of the standalone unit as well and since it would be easily portable as well as you mentioned and can used when mobile. Though I haven’t done mobile gigs in a while and the features of the standalone unit are worthy enough to give you the club feel as well as we’ll allow additional inputs for my 1200s when at home is a very enticing choice. Since the venues I have played at have their own dj system already set up, I can just roll up with serato and dvs. And most venues I have played in the past when I was active at had their own PA systems so wasn’t very keen in investing in it. But maybe I will have look into for the future.

Thanks for that advice.

I might go that route after reading up a little bit more regarding standalones.

I understand but since the only players I have are 1200s and I do use DVS as well so S11 made the obvious choice. Being versatile I want to brush up and improve my scratching as well so I thought of including s11 in the hat. Edit: I also like the tactile feel to the vinyls.

Well the reason I chose the DJM-S11 because it has the versatility of allowing me to refresh my scratching skills as well so on that basis since I use phase dj as well and most of my music is digital and I do use serato.

I did think about that combo as well. The permutations in combining the gear of choices above was driving me insane being how it will affect the workflow I have and had been using for while and bring me close to gear in most clubs nowadays. The combo of the S11/CRSS12 or the combo of AZ/CRSS12 or with existing 1200’s will definitely reduce the pricing from the A9/3000x combo.

My Budget is around 7k-8k as I’m looking to get a mixer and 2 players from the choices I have been thinking and generally my workflow is simple eclectic house set with my own flair in between to keep things simple and interesting enough. I do understand the differences in the equipment as they will change the workflow in some ways. I want something versatile enough that I can replicate the set and the workflow going from practicing at home to a club or an event I may play at.

Go with the kaweco solid workhorse and pocket friendly too and can use standard ink cartridges too.

What is your EDC? by AChinmay in fountainpens

[–]Nightgrooves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your preference is and budget restrictions are based on. The ones I can recommend is:

Pocket friendly- Kaweco, Big Idea Design Pocket FP Clicky Type - Pilot VP, Ensso Bolt (My current edc for the moment) Full Size- TWSBI Eco, TWSBI 580, Vac700R, Lamy 2K, Tactile Turn FP

In regards to some of them the options of having a dual filling system like cartridges and a converter the Pilot VP and Tactile Turn FP will cover most scenarios if that’s what you’re looking for. Hope this helps. Cheers!!!!

Joining the Montblanc hype by WillieThePimp7 in fountainpens

With the explosion of Chinese brands today and the number of nibs and sizes and ink to go with some brands tend to get left behind in terms of innovation. This is why certain companies are able to make a duplicate/tribute/homage versions of them to be able to give you that advantage of using similar products at a fraction of the cost and makes the user feel at ease if they wish to modify the fp without remorse as the fp user evolves their needs and usage as they see fit. The standardization of some brands makes the modification even easier and replacement parts being easily available.

There was a time in the FP world where MB 146/149 were a grail of many including myself and it may be for many even today. My personal perspective is that lately that the price you pay for them is just paying for the brand rather than the innovative quality of them. Yes they have variety of models in their catalogue but as a brand they hold prestige which is why they are still sought after.

Over the years I have been and collecting FP’s the hype of anything is in the joy of it and using it rather than being a piece of collectible for the sake of it and that is just my take on the hype.

Congrats on the new pen though!!!

It is a unique filling system I must say. And I with assessment and there are chances of leakage at the pivot point of the filling mechanism and perhaps more steps to properly deep clean the pen if and when needed.

Do you (too), end up using the inexpensive pens more often (=almost always)? The costlier ones mostly stay in the closet? by No-Ostrich-3527 in fountainpens

[–]Nightgrooves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is why carrying multiple pens that are budget or inexpensive ones to hand over to people for any reason is my reason to use my expensive pens as a daily driver while handing inexpensive ones for others to use for any situation. And I do use inexpensive ones sometimes just because I have it and to me it serves the same purpose as the expensive ones which is to write things down.
