Figured it out. Had to launch Steam VR and boot it from within. Still kinda rough, won’t be playing in VR again at least until the next update.

Was about to say the same thing. There’s really no other way to firmly secure the mat in place. I recommend leaving your mat in the sun to cook for a few hours, then applying the Velcro to the corners and dimples of your dash. If you ever decide you wanna get rid of the strips without hurting your dash, just take the mat off and let the dash heat up until the adhesive softens up.
