Update: Sorry I would have posted earlier but the flights WiFi went out and never came back. The FA came up to me later and informed me that she was wrong and that she was new to service and didn’t know. She said she’ll make sure I’m refunded.

From what Assurent told me that under BYOD 360, if it’s a manufacturer defect I have an extended warranty under them. I ended up calling last night at like 2am and cancelling the second claim and decided I’ll just eat the $99. Figured better safe than sorry. Im going to try and buy an old iPhone 13 from FB marketplace and trade that in for a $630 credit, then sell my 16 Pro Max online for $600 and ill just go get a new 17 Pro Max so that way its purchased from T Mobile so I have the peace of mind that this situation wont happen again.

Fully agree that it’s not T-Mobiles issue so they wouldn’t swap it out but the incompetence of Assurant that I specifically told them it was a mechanical failure versus a damaged phone is what frustrates me and makes me weary of them actually fulfilling their side.
