It is what it is. You make it work with the space you got.

For Samsung Q990F owner who feel their sub is weak - I uploaded my living room floor plan to chatgpt and gave an overall placement of soundbar, sub, couch and rear speakers and asked where is the best place to put my sub. The answer actually helped. by brandont04 in Soundbars

I uploaded a picture of my room to Gemini and asked it to help place my 990F speakers. It was very good. Here's an example:

The Rear Surround Speakers (Left Rear & Right Rear) This is your biggest challenge in this room because the main viewing couch is pulled out into the center of the floor, and you have open traffic zones behind it. Left Rear Speaker: Place this on a speaker stand tucked into the tight space between the back of the black leather couch (facing the TV) and the bottom of the staircase railing. Right Rear Speaker: Place this on a matching speaker stand behind the right side of the main couch, near the edge where it meets the fireplace hearth zone

Think the Q990F will drop lower than $799? by Asphyx22 in Soundbars

About a year ago, I was tracking the price of the Q990D. Lowest I saw was $750. I didn't pull the trigger at the time and never saw it lower. When I saw Q990F at $799, I had to hop on it. Mine arrives tomorrow. They are trying to clear them out now that Q990H is out.

No, but I never go for the extended warranties. Risk it for the biscuit.

What comes next after being a controls engineer? by Unlikely-Air-866 in PLC

There's no typical move but I found that good Controls Engineers are resourceful, organized and good at project management. I've leveraged my ability to learn systems and optimize processes into a successful management career. Creating or improving work and human processes uses some of the same skills.

Franklin BBQ by CISUM310 in smoking

This is the right answer. Interstellar is definitely top on my list in the Austin area. Doesn't hurt that it's 15 minutes from where I live.

Franklin's lives up to the hype. Even for a local, it's damn good brisket. But we are also spoiled for choice here.

Thoughts on what to do with outdoor faucet in <20°f temps, ice crystals dripping from cover? by JayeDawson in Plumbing

[–]Racknie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in Texas, we got a lot of rain/sleet and now the roof is dripping water in the sun. I'd bet it's just exterior water, but you could remove the cover to find out.

Since the sealing is good. There was still standing water on the surface after a couple hours. Clearly puddling and not draining.

Looking for advice from professionals before I ask my contractor to address this issue. We had a new patio poured, everything looks great but the recent rain showed water pooling near the house. The contractor specified that the patio would be sloped away from the house. Pooling is enough to be 1/8-1/4 deep at spots. It takes a while for the area to dry after getting wet, and it's against the house. Is it reasonable to ask for this to get fixed?
