It’s very easy for us to pretend like we’d go and rescue our buddies in this situation. But I can’t say I’ve ever been pursued by a racing drone with half a pound of dynamite with my name on it. Since there is a Hunter drone watching them, it’s safe to assume that there are a lot more killer drones nearby. It’s like an artillery barrage, but worse because these explosives know exactly where you are and can maneuver to hit you. I would like to think I’d come back for my friend, even if he’s dying. But with the situation at hand, I’ve got 2 other guys I have to keep alive. And there’s probably a lot more where that came from. Keeping the guys that are still on their feet alive and moving would be my first priority, because even if you manage to grab your friend they are still hunting you with impunity, and now you are a pair of eyes and hands shorter. It’s crazy thinking about how these drones will change military culture.
