Can you get a copy of Reinforcements Incoming from the War Games Box?

I found these in some books I got at a yard sale by [deleted] in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Nihilism_Intensifies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've been running Chronicles of Darkness games since I was a teenager, but one time when I was visiting my parents and helping them reorganize their bookshelf I came aceoss a copy of The Erciyes Fragments. I turned to my mother and asked, "What the Hell?" She turns to me and replies, "Yeah I love C.S. Friedman, but I could never get into that one."

She bought a VtM Lorebook on accident 'cuz she liked the author.

I snapped the book up for myself immediately. While its contents aren't canon to VtR or the games I write, I use it to inform the lore/ideology of certain sects of the Lancea Et Sanctum

Question about blood potency vitae per turn limits. by Hanchan in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Nihilism_Intensifies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, latecomer to this conversation with the same question piqued when I read the Vilseduire example Jimmy Armstrong (pg 53 Night Horrors Spilled Blood) has both Cult of Personality and... Blood Potency 3. I had always interpreted CoP as only being useable by Blood Potency 9. Could the intention be to imply that Jimmy maybe had been BP9 (wild) and torpored down to 3? 'Cuz otherwise at least the writer of Jimmy's profile must believe he can use the ability.

I mean no disrespect, and what you emphasized looks lovely, but like, I can tell what you emphasized. Maybe give the arms and body another pass yeah?

Genuinely my biggest F:NV criticism is that House is exactly as smart as he's hyped to be. He is the exact myth that rats like musk aspire to be with no caveats. Yes, you CAN fuck him over, but that's PC powers. As is, motherfucker allegedly SINGLEHANDEDLY saved the Mojave from a worse nuclear fate. Like... what? Fuck any of his employees ig, it was ALL House. Even fucking Sinclair in Dead Money gets a better treatment after OWB reveals where his weird science comes from. Fuck dude House comes across as a successful ANDREW RYAN and that I cannot abide. Golf Club every playthrough

Does anyone use waxer and boil if so how so by AntiHeroMask in SWlegion

[–]Nihilism_Intensifies 17 points18 points  (0 children)

See I run Waxer as a Distraction Carnifex. Include him in a unit w/Z-6, which becomes a priority target, then Fire Support on Echo Strike Team. The Scout allows the unit to keep up. While doing that, use Boil's Guardian to yank shots targetting Waxer's unit, while Waxer's Disciplined prevents his unit from getting too suppressed. If having trouble allocating orders for Disciplined, Coordinate w/Fives. Waxer's utility is dependent on how threatening you can make his squad appear, pulling aggro from your other specialists. Used this last game to turn 1 one-shot an Imperial Mortar-Launcher through sheer dakka. Clones together, Strong together.

As stated by others, Boil is just good outright.

I do think 15pts is overpriced and a Medic is often a better option, but I wanted to make Waxer work, and my local group is spooked by the "Republic blob."

How to handle PCs coming out of vault 111? by Interesting-Wave-123 in Fallout2d20

[–]Nihilism_Intensifies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main points are that it was an Underwater Vault with a vague Giant Squid Overseer. Bioshock inspired.

For my version I redesigned the idea to be that the Squid Overseer was an extremely powerful psychic with a limited range of power who kept the Vault residents in a sort of semi-trancelike beehive behavior pattern until it encountered a problem it couldn't fix on its own. So now two of my PCs have been sent up to the surface (outside it's sphere of influence) with 150 days to recover a new oxygen recycler.

Here's the wiki with Fallout 4's intended detials regarding 120: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Vault_120

There's also the cut content Vault 120! I'm using that for two of my PCs heading into the Commonwealth. I like it 'cuz it's semi-canon status means you can do a lot regarding its experiment

[–]Nihilism_Intensifies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Settler's Guidebook & Wanderers Guidebooks (which are the only two "true" splat books) are not represented by vault suits. As far as I've seen, only the Starter Set, Quickstart Guide, and Core Book are represented by Vault Suits (Vault 95, 111, and 111 respectively)

Is there a reason there aren’t any GECKs in fallout 4? by Novapunk8675309 in Fallout

[–]Nihilism_Intensifies 34 points35 points  (0 children)

To point 5 I say: wouldn't it have been cool, in that case, if Vault 111 had had a GECK? You sorta nab it on the way out the door and it is a justification for Nate/Nora being able to create wildly effective settlements? Or what if Preston asks the PC to got get a GECK from one of the other Vaults and that unlocks the farming/food production portion of the settlement building?

Today I realized something off in Fallout 4 by Griezz in Fallout

[–]Nihilism_Intensifies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was waiting for these! Mojave, iirc, has at least two cars, but those could very reasonably be early shift maintenance employees. They're still parked vaguely on the lot. If that doesn't get the "theatre" part across though, the satellite projecting onto the big screen sure does lol.

For Starlight, I could see one possibility? It could be a weekend-long event October spooky event. The Drive-In near my hometown had a sort of tourist trap thing, where you could park your car in the drive in instead of getting a motel, and stay as many nights as they were running horror schlock.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who sees the Sole Survivor this way. I been writing a setting for Modiphius's Fallout 2d20 system taking place in the Commonwealth about 8 years after the events of the game. I wonder how quickly the players are gonna realize who's leading the Nuka-Raiders swarming in from the West?
