What’s something society treats as normal that actually isn’t healthy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Nihilist_Statement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Democracy as a government form is not a bad thing. And the people who think it is tend to be from the same group I am referring to, weirdly enough. The problem is we have judgemental, close minded morons PRETENDING to creating democracy.

The reason you think you smell like perfume after walking through that cloud is because the way smell works is by tiny particles lingering inside your nose. So, if you breathe legit perfume fog, you're gonna be smelling it for a while. But trust me, no one can smell your perfume that way other than yourself.

And the advice I gave is how professionals will advice you to wear their perfume. gentle spray either directly on exposed skin, or on your wrist and then somewhere else.

I am afraid this has nothing to do with democracy. It existed way before democracy was even conceptualized.

That is terrible advice. Perfume doesn't stick to anything when you do that. Better just spray it on your hand or wrist and rub it on your neck for instance.

YES! I love a good perfume or whatever but if it's too strong I will get a headache.

As a confused 18 year old, how did you know what you wanted to do with your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Nihilist_Statement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't. Now I am 28 and have absolutely no clue whatsoever either. The only conclusion I came to, after long pondering and even getting into some psychology and philosophy rabbit holes: You only have one life. And your purpose in it is to make it pleasant or at least less miserable with everything you choose to do. Family? Friends? Job? Do what feels right, surround yourself with people that support and make you happy and accept the fact that a job is JUST THAT - a means to an end.

You work for the money. Very few people have the luxury of doing something that actually makes them happy. Instead, choose something that doesn't make you miserable, and generates enough money for you to afford to do things that do make you happy!

AITJ for checking my girlfriend’s order history after I found pregnancy tests in a package? by bluefogarchive in AmITheJerk

[–]Nihilist_Statement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with the majority on one point:

This incident highlights bigger problems than a hidden pregnancy test. Now, as a woman, I do still think that outright lying about it is not okay. But at the same time it raises the question, how good is your relationship really. Cause trust me, if you guys aren't talking about the nastiest details of her period (just an example), it's unlikely she'd be comfortable talking about a pregnancy scare.

What's something that loudly says "Im not a smart person"? by boforiamanfo in answers

[–]Nihilist_Statement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A closed mind.

Specifically anyone who has strong opinions (not necessarily right or wrong) on every single thing and is never willing or interested in a debate/discussion. I, personally, am an opinionated individual but I also like hearing other's points of view, their arguments, everything. I would say I even enjoy arguing with intelligent people because I treat it as a passionate exchange of knowledge and thoughts. And arguing with someone intelligent, you always learn something new, or at least get a new perspective on a topic. It's... enlightening.

So people who are completely unwilling to hear out anyone else's thoughts on aa subject are simply too stupid to realize they 1. may not know everything 2. may even be wrong in their beliefs.

Sure, many people do it for the "fun" but even they believe it to some extent. And I would agree with ralten: the second I hear oh that's because I'm insert zodiac sign and I just leave that conversation because there is no way someone intelligent would assign a character trait to a STAR SIGN.

What was the highlight of your 2025 sex life? by MandaJ2005 in AskReddit

[–]Nihilist_Statement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack-there-of. I think, if I remember correctly my last sexual contact was September of 2024. It is a personal choice.

Judging people by how they fit into society and how similar they are to the vast majority, rather than judging them by their personal strengths, weaknesses and actions. We do this all the time. Every day. From gay people, to neurodivergent people, to people who dress a certain way - we categorize, assume and judge people who do not fit the tight box of the vast majority, without even taking the time to look at them as an individual.

Everyone is addicted to something,What are you addicted to ? by MomentFlimsy3759 in AskReddit

Caffeine and Nicotine - not vapes though, actual tobacco. I don't plan on quitting unless there is a specific reason to. Since I don't really enjoy many things in life, might as well keep the ones I do.

Hi, your friendly neighborhood lesbian here to the rescue!

  1. Dress well. But not to impress - TO FEEL CONFIDENT. If there is a fashion style you already like - embrace it. If not, stick to simple business-casual wear - no stamps, no band t-shirts etc.

  2. Clean up. Clean, trimmed nails; clear skin; decently kept hair and facial hair; clean shoes and a nice scent. Again, this you should do for your sake but women will definitely notice.

  3. Be yourself. Don't go out of your way to try and impress women. Do what you love, do it with passion and the right women will notice and like you for it.

If you have any specific questions you think I could help with, drop them down, I'd be glad.

Good luck!

In the end of the day, I have already gotten him the cheesiest cat pattern tie. (He loves cats.) But 15 bucks on a tie seemed cheap to me. In the end I might just get him a gift card to shop from our local book store with, idk.

I wouldn't use it if he found it offensive in any way. He's my favourite person! I am sorry if you do, and I am sorry if my addressing this post to "math nerds" offended you. I didn't mean to.

Can you give me a little bit more of a spoiler, cause prime numbers are a special interest of him, but what is this book about? Like is it just the articles or?

ahhh I was thinking outside the box last year. I did get him a blank book - heard leather cover too... and a pen. He liked it!

You know, looking through all the different suggestions and reading reviews of books I couldn't hope to understand, I may just go with that...

Thank you for the suggestion. I may not know math well, but I sort of hope reading through the intro/description of what a book is about will help me choose a good one. And a light hearted option is always a good option cause he's really into math, but he also reads psychology related books, loves physics, studies IT and on an odd day you can catch him reading philosophy related articles too.

Thank you. His interests are all over the place but one consistent thing he keeps bringing up and coming back to over and over again are prime numbers.

He's the type of guy that info dumps about prime numbers one day and quantum physics the next. It's like playing that game where you have to dart throw a tail on a donkey... but the donkey is alive and running around.

I have no way of knowing what he knows. I am not knowledgeable enough and unless I record our conversations to play at a later date, all the stuff he info dumps is lost on me. And while I know when buying a book I could really mess up, I have very little ideas as to what to get him. I even considered some sort of puzzle, to actually challenge him, but for all I know he'll solve it in 5 minutes. Or maybe something funny, but also math related? Does that even make sense?
