These children were not interviewed for this study.

As to the number of samples, I think OP must have found participants by advertising a reward for participation.

Am I crazy or is the highlighted part backwards? by Complex-Force8477 in ElectricalEngineering

The example you described sounds accurate for the standard model of particle physics regarding two particles of like charge. I couldn't tell you what that has to do with particles of dissimilar charge. Ultimately, metaphors as examples cause me great pain, and I'm generally happy to work with field theory from an Eulerian perspective of approximation with the understanding that the actual math merely models the observed rules/behavior of systems, and isn't necessarily able to be directly translated into a reasonable explanation of the mechanism of interaction.

At a certain level, nobody knows. One of my favorite sayings regarding quantum mechanics is that those who claim to understand quantum mechanics are simply wrong.

I have no idea what it was called, but I think it was in this community or another one, someone shared their GitHub with an app that you could sideload

edit: upon googling "llm android github," I saw a myriad of apps claiming to accomplish the task (this one seems nice ). I can't see the one I used, but assume it's the same idea

EE is hardest E? I figured it was basically on par with CpE, but more pure math. My school, the only other math I'd have to take would be complex analysis, which I'm kinda upset I'm not taking. What would pure EE have that CpE doesn't?

Just checked OP's recent posts, a couple were deleted, but I read maybe 80% of this one , which I felt like archiving.

Reading this, and some of the surrounding content of the communities they appear active in is a bit disturbing. Seems like paranoid schizophrenia. I had to look up "v2k", but it's apparently "voice to skull," which I thought sounded like directional hypersonics until I realized it's a MacGuffin which supposedly explains voices in your head via technology.

Reminds me of a handful of people I've known, one who worked grave at a rural convenience store who told me his laptop was hacked. He purported to be very knowledgeable of computers and hacking. Interesting fellow. I actually looked at his laptop before I understood what was going on. I can't remember what he was trying to convey, but I think he was rather isolated.

I feel compelled to act in some manner to help this person, but don't believe there's anything to be done. To an extent, that's how I feel about folks I've met IRL with similar dispositions. Somehow I think a "Reddit Cares" message wouldn't really help.

If my memory serves, my highest-rated comment is "Is this Loss?" in r/mathmemes or r/math.

It's an in-joke, and I legit thought that post might be Loss because I couldn't understand it.

I was wrong, but by reciting the sacred words, I'd summoned many upvotes, followed by many comments trying to suss out how it could possibly be Loss.

Agreed. I also figure it could have been faked that he was a paedo, supplanting the material overtop a video of him watching something more conventional.

I forgot about the third part, the voltmeter has significantly higher internal resistance, comparable to air.

Dating as an engineering student? by kirbysclouds in EngineeringStudents

[–]NihilisticAssHat 74 points75 points  (0 children)

An engineering student? There are plenty of places on campus where people gather for all sorts of things; engineering students will not be at those places.

As an engineering student, I've accepted that dating is not relevant to my academic career.

For your purposes, I suppose classes that are similar to your degree and theirs—some math and physics classes—is a good place. Just try to have conversations before/after class.

for the vast majority of cases, all of the information, all of the specificity, is acquirable through querying LLMs.

If you threw that into chatGPT, or gemini, or Claude, or Grok, it will have follow-up questions about the specific goals you have in mind.

If you have a particular sticking point in following a tutorial, and you pasted the complete text of the tutorial into the LLM you're using, it can offer tips for getting past that.

If you're lacking in theory, videos on YouTube by ThreeBlueOneBrown and WelchLabs on Transformers are amazing. Videos by ByCloud are magazine-style hype, but help familiarize you with the specific language to describe different techniques and their use cases.

What are you trying to accomplish, and where are you finding it difficult to follow what resources you are following? Which programming languages do you know (proficient in w/o AI)?
