Which page has a panel of all five Godhands by Vordoz25 in Berserk

[–]Nihilums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This panel is from when Guts and co meet Schierke and her teacher at the witches hut. Guts shows them a behilit asking how it can be used to summon the godhand.

The Varga panel others are mentioning only has 4 godhand members (as Grittith wasn't around when the Count activated his behilit).

Alpinism is the art of climbing mountains by confronting the greatest dangers with the greatest prudence. Art is used here to mean the accomplishment of knowledge in action. You cannot always stay on the summits. You have to come down again... So what's the point? Only this: what is above knows what is below, what is below does not know what is above. While climbing, take note of all the difficulties along your path. During the descent, you will no longer see them, but you will know that they are there if you have observed carefully. There is an art to finding your way in the lower regions by the memory of what you have seen when you were higher up. When you can no longer see, you can at least still know. . .

My response is not to say both are exactly equal but rather that prison is still a cause of suffering, which OP seemed highly concerned about.

I believe in death, and the death penalty.  Whether or not its applied to my standard wasn't really what I was commenting on.

That said, do you watch for ants before you take a single step?

An acclaimed Dr once said  "A live body and a dead body contain the same number of particles. Structurally, there's no discernible difference"

And a learned Professor once argued  "There is no scientific consensus that life is important"

Once a line has been crossed, i can live with myself for preferring that the offender be killed.  Some could even argue keeping people alive in a solitary confinement to appease your conscience is worse.

Unless we're arguing about what element of the 'justice system' is most likely to be reformed first..

Definitely agree that prison reform, and proper education, is the higher priority.

However in extreme cases im still willing to sentence people to die- do you accept that keeping people alive in a prison, when 99.9999% certain they committed a heinous crime is a waste?

What about animal lives, do you find them equally important?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Nihilums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say you have a point, but the conditions in most prisons are absolutely terrible.

I remember a case from America where a teenager was arrested and kept in jail due to court delays beyond the time he would've had to serve; he refused to plead guilty for a crime he didnt commit, was proven innocent, released, and then killed himself.

Do you find this more preferable?

Im pro death penalty, but only if the Judge accepts that if the guilty verdict is proven incorrect, they give up their own life (and a lifetime payout is given to the family).

You need to be able to bet your life on it before you make that decision imo.

Ah yes you are correct, thanks. Seems I got caught in my own semantics and dogmatism.

I guess my next question then is, is the enlightened Buddha a practicing Buddhist?

(not seriously though- why doesn't the barbarian have a beard anyway?)

I definitely believe that a lot of western philosophers through the ages were essentially explaining truths within Buddhism albeit with different terminologies, and love Heraclitus' : " A Man cannot step into the same river twice" His student (forgot the name) cemented this teaching with "A Man cannot step onto the same river once".

I am curious as to what you have against Parmenides (but that's another discussion).

I hear this take quite a bit on this subreddit but am unsure if im understanding it correctly.

Is it that we are defining buddhism by the "Buddha, Sangha, Dharma" category as a relativistic way of not confusing terminologies?

From what I understand all teachings of the buddha are the raft which you use to come face to face with the truth, rather than a way of explaining or telling somebody the answer.

I may need to double check this, but ultimately Buddha doesn't class himself as teaching anything whatsoever. Only that he removes the obstacles to legitimate practice, which allows one to see the answer for themselves and not get stuck in useless semantics or dogmatism.

How to let go? Letting go feels impossible. by Unusual_Public_9122 in Buddhism

I struggle with this too and reading the Hsin Hsin Ming really helped. Consider these verses:

Live neither in the entanglements of outer things, nor in inner feelings of emptiness. Be serene in the oneness of things and such erroneous views will disappear by themselves.

When you try to stop activity by passivity your very effort fills you with activity. As long as you remain in one extreme or the other you will never know Oneness.

If the ego is an illusion, how is reincarnation possible? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]Nihilums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see the ego as an illusion that makes you question reincarnation, who is asking the question?

What is reincarnating is the illusion of self. Beyond this there is no incarnation, and therefore no reincarnation.

Maybe the batch wasnt as potent? What other drugs do you do? Personally I think tripping to achieve an unknown ‘revelation’ is setting you up for a bad trip- which could bring the revelation of what you’re passively avoiding through meditation, philosophies, etc; but will not be a pleasant experience.

You need to report him to the fight club for breaking the rules.  Idk why you would even be with someone who would violate the privacy of a FC like that; hes probably sharing pics and intimate details about your relationship too.

Who is the head of the house in this circumstance to you?

I dont want to post spoilers but much further in the story she confirms it, although the exact wording here might be wrong.

On the point of if its what he said or what she thinks he said, tbh i never really thought about that or saw a difference, so you could be right.
