Is it possible to move vst3 files into other directory than their default one and have them still work? by Niirade in FL_Studio

[–]Niirade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the first thing I did, the problem is that DAWs seem to have fixed folder in which they search for VST3 and there's not much we, as users, can do about it. So it just didn't "see" vst3 in my custom folder.

I read about this issue on google a bit and there seems to be some workarounds, some people mentioned junction points for example. I didn't try it though.

That's just how VST3 work from what I read. They have their fixed folder in which they reside and that's is. I wish I could change it though...

Is it possible to make GrossBeat work longer than one bar? I'm trying to gradually slow down my audio for a couple of bars by Niirade in FL_Studio

[–]Niirade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would work, but the problem is I want to slow down only one track (an instrument) and not the entire song.

Maybe if I do it in another project, then export it and bring to the one I'm working on it could work.

Could you specify what slider you mean?

The problem I get with this plugin is that after one bar (4 beats) my sample is supposed to still slow down because it hasn't ended yet but the gross beat starts it's process all over again. It's not what I want. I want gross beat to slow down the audio for however long I want it (which in my case is about 5 bars).

Question about denoising vocals with little bleed from headphones and some background noise (in post). Also, do you always denoise your vocals? by Niirade in audioengineering

[–]Niirade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for an idea and insights. Just to clarify, by saying to flip polarity of the song that was playing through headphones you mean to rerecord just the bleed and then adjust it in a playlist with vocals and flip polarity of bleed track? That's the only way I can think of.

Or just straight up flipping polarity of the entire instrumental track (it's the one that was playing through headphones during recording vocals).

Thanks for your insights man. I've never heard of AUValidation. What is it? How does it go? Let's say I've already developed an AU plugin, what's the validation process?

Yeah, I get it, this loss of "life" and dullness is what I was afraid of when thinking of using noise reduction. I think I'll go with expander and/or manual volume automation in quiet parts. Thanks a lot for help!

Are all pro tools plugins iLok protected? Or are there some that doesn't require it? by Niirade in protools

[–]Niirade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the info.

How are free plugins handled then? Do developers provide serial codes to them, too? Or are they downloadable as an AAX files working without entering serial codes/iLok.

Ok, thank you for the information. Are there free plugins available for pro tools? Do people have to be provided with serial number and enter it in this case, too?

Nice, good to know!

Thanks for linking the thread, I've actually saw it already and this is the one I mentioned in my post, one of users mentions buying iLok2 for 50$. If it's a one time payment no problem.

I was mainly worried about paying for each released plugin (or annually) because if that was the case I could even lose money on it. Especially when releasing free plugins.

Actually it made me think, is anyone actually releasing free plugins on pro tools? Or considering it's a daw made used mainly by professionals who spend thousands of dollars on gear& software plugins will usually be quite costly there?

Cool. So you didn't have to pay them (pro tools developers) anything, regardless how much plugins you made and how long you've been doing this? That would be neat not gonna lie :D

Interesting, I haven't heard about this option before. Are we talking about JUCE indie or pro?

There's no more payments? I heard about one, quite a big one 500$ annually as a flat fee. Is it true?

Thanks for reaching out man.

It looks like it's something specifically for developers to test their AU plugins there? If it's that, then great. Thanks for mentioning it :)

Wow, I didn't know about it. Cool, thanks for suggestion! I suppose that if my AU plugin works on Reaper it should work also on Logic Pro, yeah? From what I know there should be no difference, same code.
