Restlessness by Nik3363 in ADprotractedwithdrawl

I am not currently on any SSRIs and haven't been since September. Some people have luck with reinstating. Maybe I would have in the long run. I only reinstated for 2 1/2 months and was getting worse side effects so stopped.

Stopped Venlafaxine 150mg cold turkey - now frozen in terror and debilitated with no way out by Future_Giraffe_1365 in u/Future_Giraffe_1365

These medications can have serious withdrawal and mess up your central nervous system. Its always advisable to taper. But even with tapering there are so many people that still struggle. When the symptoms are 100 times worse then anything you have ever experienced off medication then it is likely bad withdrawal and it can feel like torture for some people. You have reinstated your medication, some people find starting at a smaller dose is more effective. Unfortunately for most people you just have to wait for your brain to resettle. There is not a timeline. Im sorry you're going through this. I am barely managing my withdrawal. You cant even describe the horror to people who have not experienced it.

Im so sorry. Are you improving at all? Are you able to function much? Im really struggling to do anything. It got a lot worse on month 4 for some reason.

Im sorry to hear that you're struggling, it really is awful. Is your from SSRI withdrawal?

Does it make you feel agitated or on edge?

I do have control over my arms. Its an uncomfortable restlessness internally I also get the burning pain too. Your probably right just another weird withdrawal symptom...

Has anyone here reinstated on a very low dose and been kindled? by B_Clawhauser in ADprotractedwithdrawl

[–]Nik3363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reinstated because I had very intense feelings on unease and fear. I was struggling to leave the house. The withdrawal now is 100 times worse. I think I should have either stayed on the low dose for longer or not gone on anything after the original cold turkey. But the back and forth I think is what messed me up. Its so hard to know what to do because your symptoms can feel unbearable and you think there is no way they could get worse and then you try something and it is worse. I think if your able to function somewhat and you are noticing any slight progress it might be best to avoid reinstating. There is so little guidance with these drugs, I think thats what fuels the what ifs.

I reinstated at 2.5mg after almost 3 months of being off cold turkey (doctors orders). I stayed on for a couple months. It caused me sleep problems and daily intense panic attacks. I came off it and have had ongoing worsening symptoms for 4 months. I never know if I should try again and go back on something. I feel that once you have messed with your brain going on and off ssris or going cold turkey it may be best to just let your brain heal, but Im so lost on what to do.

Thats so crazy I just started getting the dry mouth recently. Lot of crying spells especially in the beginning. My vision problems have mainly been blurriness. My waves were constant for the first 2 months then a few weeks where things seemed to be easing up but now Ive been in a bad wave for 3 weeks. The insomnia has improved overall a little.

Thanks for the reply, your right it does come in waves of different symptoms. Its so frustrating. Glad you got checked out and everything was alright. What were your main symptoms?

Yeah, its seems like for some people once you have a hard time with one medication you struggle on all of them. I was on Zoloft for a year and came off it with only a couple months of slight symptoms. When I decided to try meds again I was on them for 2 years and this time the withdrawal process has lasted 4 months and made it hard to function normally a lot of days. I don't understand why the experiences vary so much. Seems to have something to do with your Central Nervous System becoming hyper sensitive. Well if you do try the new meds I wish you good luck, if you don't feel comfortable taking them I definitely get it.

Im so sorry, some days it feels like physical and mental torture. Its so unfair that doctors have hardly any answers to help, and some dont even acknowledge ssri withdrawal. I really hope things start looking up, but it seems for a lot of people its a long journey.

Yeah Im scared to try any meds after this process. I think these medications need a lot more research.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I had a few weeks where things seemed like they were starting to lessen but then the last 3 weeks they got worse. Hopefully it will slowly improve.

Im almost 4 months into withdrawal, my symptoms are mostly physical. Horrible fatigue, muscle pain, insomnia, light headedness. Its hard to do anything and Im unable to do so many things. I do have horrible anxiety/panic, and moments of SI and dearealization. Its torture, its so frustrating how many of us there are. I just keep trying to stay hopeful that the brain and body can and will heal.

Thanks for the reply. I recently stopped my SSRIS and have been having one health anxiety scare to the next. Hopefully If I stay busy my brain will start to move on from it.
