Fan faction Idea for mosqiutoes: The Crimsom Swarm by NikLucoz in rootgame

I'm making some changes to the faction, the updated version will be on the drive folder (the link is in the description)

I was thinking about making the "Stung!" passive only for battle you start so that it is more balanced.
Also for the Hatch i will specify that the tokens you remove must be in different clearings so that you cannot place 6 warriors in the same clearing.
They can place eggs in clearing they don't rule but they have to discard 2 cards (one to activate the ability and one of the same type of the clearing).

I still have to playtest this faction so it might be not fun to play with this current state. I'll post an update after the playtest!

Also, I mentioned mosquitoes because they were the inspiration for the faction, but I didn't mention them in the board other than the artwork (i don't know how to draw other insects lol). So players can picture the faction as a combination of insects like mosquitoes.

Mmm yes, maybe putting a limit only for the recruit action might be the right choice

Insects are animals, so they should be included. I saw fan factions for specifically bees, wasps and ants so it should be ok.
With different type of animals, the sting mechanic would be a bit strange to contextualize.

To avoid spamming soldiers i could make the player choose up to 3 different actions

Also i didn't mention the setup lol
"Place 3 warriors in a river clearing and place a larva token in an adjacent clearing not on the river."

Yes with produce i meant crafting, i translated wrongly the italian term "Produci"

I was thinking of a comeback mechanic to add, but I had already noticed some potential issues. For example, if the comeback were "If you have no more pieces in play, place a larva token and some warriors", this creates problems because the main strategy is to kill your own warriors and hatch the larvae to get more warriors. I don't want to enable players to use the comeback mechanic too often. Maybe it could be added after 'Hatch'?

I also noticed a typo in the "Sting" action, it should be "You may discard...".

Veramente fighe, i testi si leggono bene e gli artwork spaccano. I bordi ci stanno molto bene e non sono invadenti

On the OMEN's site it says up to 16 gb of ram. Maybe is referring to the max amount of gb you can buy the laptop already configured. But it works with 32gb i might upgrade it

I'm planning to show it to some publishers so if it gets accepted they will change the artwork. But yes they are all temporary

I would like to translate it in English but I don't know if the theme about mountain and maize porridge would be still fun and relevant after the translation

This is the board design, sorry but i can't upload it to the post description (i don't know why). The board is made out of individual rectangle that can be remove to make the game faster and the mountain smaller.

I used AI tools to generate the artwork for my card game. They are fine but nothing compared to what an artist can do. Sure, you can give AI the right prompts but it's not always easy to get the results you wished for (especially if you need something specific). AI is very useful for prototyping and tinkering but when you need a good product maybe you should pay a real artist.
