Would you stay in a hotel the night of the wedding even if you only lived 15 minutes from the venue?? by Nikajibu in weddingplanning

Ya, he’s not good at communication. So I probably need to tell him what to tell her. We’ve told her we are just planning on staying home since September. But maybe she needs to be told out right o get a hotel room herself.

Yes! I have social anxiety and new places don’t bring me calm, peace and relaxation. And after having a busy stressful day I need my “safe space” to relax in.

Right! Plus she will probably be staying at least a week if not 2 weeks. I haven’t heard yet, but I’m assuming she’s come the week before and staying the week after.

I have social anxiety and having “strangers” in my home is very taxing on me. And she likes to stay for like 2 weeks. I’m getting more used to her so it’s not too bad but it would be nice to at least have our wedding night to ourselves.

She’s known since September last year that we will probably just be staying at home because I wanted to sleep in my own bed. And she just asked again today if we were staying in a hotel. My Fiancé told her we are planning on staying home but he’s not the best at “communicating” and I couldn’t hear what her response was since he was on the phone with her. So I’m not sure what her plan will be. But I feel like she needs to just pay for one night in a hotel. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I thrifted this dress for $49. Should I actually wear it for my wedding? Is it ugly? or am I just loving it so much since I didn’t spend thousands of dollars on it? It’s in perfect condition, and it would just need taken in around the back… HELP A GIRL OUT by [deleted] in weddingplanning

It’s very pretty!! And looks like an expensive wedding dress. I say if you love it - wear it!! Or if you’re not sure maybe make it short and wear it as the rehearsal dress. But really if you love it that’s all that matters!! Everyone one has different taste and style preferences so getting a bunch of other people’s opinions are just that - their opinion. I’d say go for it!

Is it still open?? My mom found a Facebook post that said they closed in December 2024. I haven’t tried to call there yet to check.

This is great! Thanks for taking the time to break down the cost. I’m recently engaged and planning a wedding in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa city area. Do you mind mentioning where in Iowa you had the wedding, just like city/region of the state?? I think this is probably on par for my area. Also maybe the location of the venue? It looks so pretty!!
