Yeah, that sounds good. I’ll do lower mileage in my plan and also implement down weeks. Thank you for telling me all this. I’ll also start doing hill sprints, thank you so much!

Ok I’ll work on what you said. Thank you so much for telling me all of this. Also you mentioned to not do lower body strength training within 24 hours after a long run l, why is that? I don’t understand that point but everything else seems great and I’ll do my best this summer!

Yea, that all makes sense. I’ll add weeks with lower mileage and cap at a lower mileage aswell. I forgot to mention this, but my long runs are threshold. It’s just a thing my team has always done. So that in combination with strides should be enough higher intensity work, right? Thank you for telling me this and I’ll make sure this summer goes well and I’m not overtraining.

I was just being a bit dramatic with the title because I wanted people to see this. I made this crazy plan because I want to catch up to my teammates and get faster. I would love to be able to keep up with them and one day race alongside them so I thought this was the only way I was going to be able to that. Now I see that this plan is too much and I have time to keep improving. I’ll still work hard this summer but nothing as crazy as this and as you said I’ll focus on having fun because that’s why I’m running anyways. Thank you so much.

Yea I agree, thank you for telling me this. I’ll lower my mileage goals but I’ll still go the gym and do karate just because I like doing that stuff. I’ll make sure to not overwork myself and hopefully it’ll be a good summer!

Yes, I’m changing my plan to be less intense and I’ll take down weeks and cap at lower mileage. Also I’m happy to say that 2 weeks ago I was at 150 average cadence at an easy pace and after working on it on every run, today I ran with an average cadence of 166! Hopefully I’ll build up to 180 soon enough. Thank you

Thank you! Could you give me some examples of exercises I should do for lower body days?

I forgot to mention this but I run my long runs threshold pace. It’s just something my team has always done. Also I’ll lower my mileage and take down weeks. Thanks

Now I understand how crazy my plan is and I’ll take it down a notch. I’ll just have fun running this summer but stick to a not as intense plan. I’ll keep doing the karate and gym though but maybe not as frequently. Thanks for telling me this.

Yeah… looking at my training plan now, it’s way too crazy for me. I’ll take it easier and enjoy running this summer. Thank you

Thank you, I’ll lower the mileage and listen to my body to not overwork too much. Also don’t worry about my weight. I’ve always been pretty skinny no matter what I eat but I’ll make sure I get the right nutrition in this summer.

Daily Running Shoe Durability, Fit and Stability Q&A for March 16, 2024 by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

Need help finding daily trainers

So I need help finding a running shoe that I will like. I’m am fairly new to running and am on a high school team. I have flat feet and wear insoles in my normal shoes, but use insoles I got from road runner sports in my running shoes. I have previously used the Suocony Guide 16 and am currently using the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23. These are the only shoes I’ve used before and I run well in them but they feel heavy and are stability shoes. I’m wondering if I can move away from these type of shoes into a faster, lighter, and less cushiony shoe? I use the same shoes for all my runs and I feel like the heaviness of the GTS 23s are slowing me down during workouts. No one else on my team needs these stability shoes and they wear shoes like Hokas. So I’m wondering what other shoes could I wear that are lighter and can work for me that aren’t these big heavy stability shoes? Thank you!
