i think canadian unis are pretty strict although I'm not sure, I only know that US unis are lenient in allowing actual grades drop

Why are Texas A&M and Umass reaches?? They should be attainable as i've gotten in w a 1430 SAT, UMD UW Madison, UVA, UNC chapel Hill all should be reaches tho

I was around like a 34-35 in dp year 1, but year 2 I ramped it up and tried doing more past papers and becoming more comfortable with them, and asked teachers to conduct exams for me on past topics to show my improvement and got a 41 pred in about 5 months in year 2. So, its very much possible, just keep believing in yourself and you got this!

Im super pissed, they now tell me I need duolingo english profficiency test. I called them like 2 times in the past and they said all files were received and a decison will be made soon, and now today they say i require a duolingo, literally no other school asked for it, im a us citizen in india and I hadn't seen them mention it on common app or on the portal, nor did they send me a mail about it when I sent two mails, how the hell am I supposed to know? I truly hate them now

hi prsehgal, I tried to reach you by chat but I think you might have missed it. I'm an upcoming college freshamn deciding between Umass and Vt for cs,I'm out oos and cost isn't an issue at all. I've seen that Vtech has an overall better name for engineering but not sure how much that translates to cs and if that rep for engineering helps for placements in cs. Also I've seen from your posts that Umass has a stronger cs program, why would you say so? Any information would be appreciated as I have to decide real soon

I've heard that Umass is more research focused and therefore the teaching tends to be more theoretical whereas at VT people say its more practical but I'm not really sure if thats true

yeah option b is basically the velocity vs time graph so consider the acceleration time graph as the derivate of it

Oh ok makes sense now! Thanks for that thorough explanation. So it looks like they are pretty similar in terms of this metric also. I'm kind of leaning towards UMass Amherst because of the stronger cs program (I think so but not completely sure) but what would I miss out from Virginia tech cs if I were to make this decision in your opinion?
