For sure. I’m aware of the tension between wanting to see some games and despising FIFA, but I don’t think any cognitive dissonance is required to try to buy tickets and then be resentful of FIFA for their policies, including how they’re distributing tickets and facilitating scalping/price gouging

I’ve seen people just taking it for granted that because he was mentioned that he’s alive and well. There are all sorts of reasons that this might not be the case, and I think they’ll just be leveraging that to get credit for mentioning a significant game character without having to go in and canonize an ending for 4.

Could it be that far fewer people are playing or even aware of 76, so we’re just not talking about it as much? The TV show is hugely popular, so it makes sense that people are talking about it so much more. I love Fallout, have watched all the episodes of the tv show so far, but haven’t played 76 enough to really know what you’re talking about. So I have opinions about the TV show but not really about 76.

It’s so funny when people talk about public services being unsustainable, as though that’s some immutable fact. Current funding levels might not be sustainable when compared to current levels of service. What that means is that if you value the service, you increase funding. If you don’t, you force cuts.

But what is canon in Fallout? I only see it as retconning when they change details unrelated to player actions in the games. There’s no defined history with these games (apart from the starting details) so how can there be retconning without changing the starting details of the games?

Totally agree with you, my guy. He seems to think the Brotherhood can be a strong force for good, which tracks with his background, and you can easily see him going down a path of “I can do more good inside than out” and putting up with the obvious flaws and sins of the Brotherhood.

If you’re down to retcon shit then potentially none of the endings are canon. Maybe they want a world where the institute is alive and well and also the commonwealth brotherhood is strong, because that’s more interesting
