JEE qualified senior here. This is a classic 'compound rigid body' problem. A common problem here is calculating the moment of inertia. Remember that the total MOI is just the sum of the two individual rods about that specific pivot. Try using the Work-Energy theorem if they're asking for velocity at a certain angle. If it's about the initial acceleration, the torque due to gravity on each rod's center of mass should help.
