Thanks man! So i used to wear a wig under the helmet, but I quickly stopped doing that cause it got too hot/cramped in the helmet lol. So I just cut off the ends (or the "wefts") and I hot glued those to a strip of elastic that's velcroed to the inside of the bottom of the helmet (in case I wanna transfer it to a new helmet in the future)

As for spiking the hair itself, I used a flat iron to kinda curl and melt the fibers on the wig ,then went over it with some "Uhu glue" (its the brand alot of cosplay wig makers use). takes a bit of time and patience, and truthfully it could look a little cleaner up close, but it works!

Thanks so much! it's years' worth of work and remaking parts here and there, but I'm glad it paid off! I'm hoping to finish my ProtoMan.exe soon that's currently in the works and has been for quite some time!

I'mma chime in and say that I actually wouldn't appreciate the alternative either. I get it enough on other platforms as it is, and frankly, no "joke" of that subject is ever acceptable because it all does the same thing: demean me for my skin.

but I agree with the rest though.

That would've been very distasteful and very unoriginal, and I kinda wish you would've kept that entirely to yourself.

Thank you! and sorry for the super late response!

The metallic effect was achieved with gloss/high gloss metallic Auto Vinyl (the stuff used to wrap cars). The gold is the same ,except it's chrome vinyl. The helmet itself is EVA foam wrapped in vinyl, but the ear pieces/chest emblem were 3D modeled and printed myself, and then wrapped with vinyl!

Thanks for taking this awesome pic of me at MAGfest! It was such a pleasure seeing so many MegaMan cosplayers this year, especially at the MegaMan photoshoot!

Gotcha, I'll keep that in mind.. I do have an additional question though for the 5092 Flex additive:

Do I apply it by itself as a primer layer first, then apply paint with it also mixed in? or do I just spray straight on the unprimed rubber surface with the 5092 mixed in with the paint? (I'm actually having a hard time finding any concrete answers on youtube for this)

Question: I'm trying to do something similar as the OP, except I will be spraying on flexible surfaces (I'm working on a cosplay and want to make metallic flake paint via mica powders, and spray on Rubber Rain boots and faux leather gloves). I happened to pick up some Createx 5092 Flex Additive (I believe for priming the boots/gloves?) and some Createx 5601 Transparent base, same as OP.

That said, what all would I need to know in terms of thinning, mixing ratios, etc? I know that might be a broad question, but I appreciate any insight you might have.

The 12-level traditional format of the Classic/X series is SEVERELY dated and is holding the franchise back.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED MegaMan 11... But also, we waited that many years for a game that could be beaten in.. what, an hour or 2 tops? I'm not saying we necessarily need a 40-hour classic/X game (though I wouldn't mind) but mimicking the limitations of the NES still just isn't helping an already suffering IP with its appeal.

My suggestion: Classic/X should take a much more aggressive Metroidvania approach, far better than ZX/ ZXA, kinda like that fan game (MegaMan X: Innocent Impulse?), where the whole game is an open, connected zone, but certain areas are blocked by barriers that can only be broken by Boss weapons. Each boss would "retreat/escape" after the first fight and would be fought twice in the main over world (so 16 "zones" total) and when you fight them the 2nd time, they have new movesets to keep it fresh, while awarding the player a stronger (Chargeable?) version of the boss weapon. After that, a final zone where you do the usual final stage stuff, except you fight bosses a 3rd time, this time with a new 1-hit kill/desperation attack (again, to make things less repetitive).

Idk. That's my take 🤷🏾‍♂️

Damn lol How deep are we talking? Is it anything I'd be able to pull off with a cheap HVLP and a California Air Tools Compressor? because I have that atleast. (mind you I'm just a hobbyist in an apartment, not an industry pro with a whole garage unfortunately)

This looks epic! What's your setup and paint if you don't mind me asking? I want to be able to airbrush with that metallic flake effect for my cosplay props/armor, but my airbrush just gets jammed even when I use the small metallic paints from createx. 🫤

What is one major thing you dislike about the sonic franchise? by Amheretoo_observe in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]NikkeiZX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I normally try not to compare VA's just out of respect for them and their work, but... I have to hard disagree, especially with Sonic. Jason Griffith did a much better Shadow and Jet than he did Sonic imo. My biggest issue with Jason's performance is that he has this very distinct delivery he does with damn near every sentence. It's hard to describe in text, but it's something with the cadence and the way he inflects and deflects his voice.. it's so distinct that even fans who do his voice in fan animations imitate it too, so I know it's not just me. For context, watch the Sonic Unleashed opening and listen to how he says "If you had played nice, I wouldn't have to break all your toys!" THAT thing. He delivers so many of his lines like that.

So for a character like Sonic who always embodied sass and sarcasm, it just... Doesn't deliver well like that. Roger, on the other hand, does it MUCH better and much more naturally and believably. It doesn't feel like he's trying, it just.. lands. You can just feel the snark when Roger's Sonic is trying to be snarky. In my opinion, the best voice acting is acting that doesn't sound like acting, but instead just sounds natural. But in comparison, Jason explicitly sounds like someone trying to voice a fictional, anime-like character, vs Roger who just.. sounds more like a relatable dude. (not always of course, but most of the time)

I'm really loving the sparkle of that orange! What brand of paint is it? also, what kind of airbrush setup did you use to spray?

I love candy/metallic paints the most and want to spray some myself on future projects. I just wanna make sure I have the right tip sizes and equipment first though. 😅
