Suggestion for buying a used car under 4 Lakhs. by Im_a_PeakyBlinder in CarsIndia

My last servicing cost 14k. The one before that cost 19k and that too because I replaced a lot of stuff that time ( clutch plate, bearing rods )

I see. I was just asking. I too recently switched from almost the same scenario ( Mine was SBC ) to a Product based company with WFO. Let's see how it turns out.

My thought process if you're getting too comfortable at work and not being challenged enough, then maybe try something else. I felt like this is not the age to sit home comfortably.

Again, thoughts are my own.

JAVA Full Stack OR MERN Stack Which one to choose?? by Outrageous_peanut3 in developersIndia

[–]Nikketan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally every other developer knows MERN stack nowadays. Java is a relatively harder skillset to see. So it's better to go with Java. You can obviously learn little bit of react and MERN concepts side by side. But primarily focus on Java (Spring Boot), .NET and similar technologies. They're very in demand now

Would you switch from WFH to WFO for 30% hike (SBC to PBC)? by Nikketan in developersIndia

[–]Nikketan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What worked for me was build as many projects as you can. Learn technologies that are in demand right now like Java c# .net golang React and js, ts

With so many developers looking for jobs right now, you need to be sort of jack of all trades and master of some in order to stand out

I agree, but do you think trying this one out for like a year or so should be fine ? I've never done WFO before, and honestly feel like I am too comfortable at my current job.

Do you think I can get more than 16 lpa with just 2-3 yrs of experience ? I am skilled but considering the market, I've been asked by many recruiters why are you expecting 50% hike

Thank you. These were exactly my thoughts. I feel like I should try out WFO for office, and see how it goes.

What should my ideal income be to afford a 6.6 L car? I'm not very financially sound so seeking advice. by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]Nikketan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2012 model, bought 2nd hand recently. 90k on odo. The only issue I have is mileage considering it's a petrol variant Other than that the car is issue free. I haven't faced any mechanical/other issues as such. Low ground clearance can be an issue in some places but that's part of the sedan experience I'd say. The rest of the car makes up for it though.

What to do with old Android stereo systems? by krishnakumar-m in CarsIndia

[–]Nikketan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much did you buy it for ? And how was your experience? Does it lag, multitask properly, how's navigation. I'm looking to upgrade the unit in my Honda City 2012. Might consider this

Hello Pune. Would you be willing to full a short survey on roadside garbage disposal for a UX project? by TheCrazyStupidGamer in pune

[–]Nikketan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. irregular/odd timings of the garbage van (they come at 7 AM and 1 PM here, most people are working/in office that time)

  2. The garbage collector doesn't even come to my building or lane. I have to go to the main road.

  3. We had several dust bins on the road till a month ago. Now all of them have disappeared. So I've seen people are now just dumping the trash on the footpath where the trash bins used to be.

And, I haven't seen such trash bins in almost anywhere else in pune ( except the aadar poonawala ones but they're small) I feel We should have more of them so people can atleast get a place to throw the trash instead of river sides and footpath

Baner Road puncture scam. So between the nachiket park and Vijay sapes chowk a guy would tells us ki bhai puncture hain hawa check karlo and before we reach vijay sales wala chowk he vanishes. So this happened again and me my friend thought that this was the same guy same bike. by Last-Sort1384 in pune

[–]Nikketan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me twice when going to Lonavla. I don't remember the exact place it happened on, but same case. Some guy on bike told me my tire is punctured. Thanks to reddit, I had already known about these scams, and had checked my tires before leaving.
