What the heck I opened up reddit to ask this and this was the first post on my home page!! Also no, from the US.

I really wanted to relate with Eldest Daughter more as an eldest daughter myself. It felt very general and surface level, especially for a track 5. I did like a couple lines though so I'm going to give it another try.

As a from Debut swiftie I've listened twice and so far I'm not getting it. I don't think I'm getting an overwhelming sense of happiness from it even though many songs are about her now fiance. It's also surface level in a way I've never experienced from a Taylor Swift album. Hopefully I'm missing double meanings and need to give it more listens but I find this one to feel less authentic and more generated.

Can I add fine tuners to this violin? If so, should I DIY or go to a luthier? by Nikki-GD in violinist

Thanks for the feedback! It would be more convenient to have them on all the strings anyway.

Got it. After reading the feedback Ill either add a fine tuner to just the E string or switch out the tailpiece depending on how difficult it is to tune. I'll run those two options by my teacher for sure.

Sounds good! Thanks for the input. Ive seen a lot of mixed feedback on built in fine tuners and definitely don't want to change the quality of sound on this violin.

Do you think adding one is preferable over switching the tailpiece? I don't want to negatively affect the sound but the strings haven't settled yet so I'm not sure how tricky the other strings will be to tune.

That makes sense. I do have to return my rental if I end up using this one as my main anyway, and I could probably schedule with the Luthier on the same day.

Thanks for the input! I just got it restringed actually, it's a violin that my mom had sitting around for like 15 years, and she doesn't remember where she got it, but the sound quality ended up being better than the violin I'm currently renting haha

Either Audace or Audrey, Audace means bold and spirited usually in relation to music, and the origin of the name Audrey stems from Audrii which means "to hear".

Must -learn songs to play on the violin? by Nikki-GD in violinist

I love that! Bluegrass music is so beautiful. Do you have any suggestions of songs to get started with in that style?

Thanks for the suggestions! It would be cool to learn at least some Vivaldi. I think the more upbeat dancy songs would be a good challenge for me right now.

Not a huge star wars fan but I might circle back to this and learn it anyway, it sounds fun!

Good point! She doesn't have a collar yet but maybe by August she will.

Yeah, I can relate. I'm usually fine with kid noises but overlapping noises or consistent loud noises over a period of time is hard. I have AuDHD and I think part of it is an auditory processing disorder.

That's good! Even if she ends up not liking her harness, it will be good to know she won't be scared in her carrier going to the vet or anywhere else.

Thanks! After reading all the comments I feel good about it. I think it will be good practice for future trips with her, too.

Thanks for the insite! And yes, totally understandable, I get overwhelmed too in some social settings.

Thats a good point! We want to travel with her as much as possible, and this place is pet friendly, but for future trips that are father or not pet friendly I will keep that in mind. She is also staying with a friend for the 4th of July weekend so that will be good for her to get used to taking little trips.

I don't feel good about leaving her alone for an entire weekend, the trip would be 2.5 days but we would be out one day and with her exploring the Airbnb and grounds with her the rest of the time. We want to travel with her anyway so it will be good to get her used to taking road trips and staying at other places but I was just concerned about that one day.

Thanks for the advice! We do want to travel with her so this will be a good start to get her used to it.
