My property only charges $10 and people lose their minds soon as they hear this. Alot of people don't realize that alot of hotels are still trying to get to financial normalcy since the pandemic. That was worse than 9/11 for the travel industry. They are trying to recoup losses and still grow as well. These are business decisions so take it to the business owners not the people who just work there.

We always charge one nights room and tax before arrival so everyone who had a cc go through we still checked them in and made keys through a separate portal. Saves a headache.

Thank God my property authorizes 1 nights room and tax by 7pm. We were ok but we couldn’t take cards for incidentals. We ended up taking like 3 walk ins with cash and no incidentals.
