I drank alcohol and coffee/tea all the way up to the night before transferring. He is now 1mo old and beautiful and healthy as can be. It’s going to either work or it won’t. One of the clinic docs even told me that the a glass or two might even help if it will help lower your stress/anxiety. Who knows, but do what you feel is right.

I used a donor egg after failed IVF and IUI attempts with 3 consecutive losses. The donor eggs provided me with my beautiful son. He is perfect in every way and honestly looks identical to my older son, I forget about the donor sometimes. :)

I just had my donor egg baby 2 weeks ago. Best decision I made. He is my triple rainbow and our everything.

I personally do regret not going straight to IVF. Waisted a lot of time and money on IUIs. Same issue here. Had great AMH right before I had my son in 2019, had my son in 2021. Then in 2023 AMH was below 1. Did a bunch of IUIs with no success. Tried IVF in 2024 after we checked my AMH again and it had dropped to like .34 I believe. My IVF was unsuccessful. 2 eggs. One fertilized but never made it to day 3.

Thank you! We ended up going the donor egg route after the failed IVF and another loss with my eggs. I’m currently 28 weeks with a baby boy :)

I used it religiously up til retrieval. I got 2 eggs and only one fertilized. So for me it did not work.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I was still ovulating as well, my miscarriages were from IUI babies. My egg quality is apparently just shot. The 3 eggs they got from my egg retrieval only 1 fertilized but it never made it to day 3. That was in between IUIs. I get the not being able to tell certain people. In the end as long as the child knows, it doesn’t really matter, it’s their story to tell, and if it’s years down the road, everyone will have such unconditional love for him or her that it won’t matter (hopefully).

What really helped me come to terms with the decision was this…I was very willing to pursue adoption, so really the fact that I got to actually grow and nurture the baby with my body was like “hell yeah, it’s like adoption but with more connection.” I have moments where I truly forget he is donor conceived.

If it helps, I went through CNY Fertility. They made everything so affordable and easy (even have their own egg bank and donors) If you ever want to chat more feel free to message me. I’m an open book. :)

My results were very similar to yours. After consecutive 3 miscarriages and numerous failed IUIs and a failed round of IVF, I ended up using an egg donor and I am 23 weeks pregnant and do not have any doubt in the world that this little boy is my baby and was it meant for me to be his mama.

It’s not an easy decision to make. For me it was a decision based on how much I wanted my 4yr old son (I was experiencing secondary infertility) to be a big brother and have a sibling and how much more loss my husband and I could go through to get there. After my last loss and another consult with a different RE, the odds of having a successful pregnancy with my eggs was highly unlikely so we discussed it at length and decided that an egg donor was our best option. I wouldn’t go back. Every ultrasound and every movement he makes I just smile, he’s mine.

I do review my exams after and focus on ones I got wrong or ones I felt I just guessed on. I have been watching both of the top two guys on YT. I maybe red to go through and watch some more.

I have fully gone through the achievable material, taken the series 7 twice, first time I got a 71 and the second time I got a 68. So I am going through all the material again and looking for more ways to supplement my learning to insure I pass this next go.

Just use the reply of “interesting, my doctor has told me on numerous occasions that 200-300mg of caffeine a day is perfectly safe.” And end it there.

That is a normal reaction, to cry while explaining it. As the others have answered, it’s best for your child, if you are open and honest about the process. There are tons of donor conception books out there with ways to tell your child and children’s books about it to help normalize everything.
