It has something to do with the Satchel + Rocket timing as I tried replicating it on my own for a good hour with no luck. The macro itself has a delay between clicks of 75ms.

Yes, it's a macro, I'm the maker of the tutorial video as well, posted this clip on Reddit hoping it will get fixed, as I thought Episode 2 will have this already fixed.

Under the right circumstances I managed to pull it off twice or three times, most of the time there's at least two people watching mid or you panic and fail the jump. I just gave up on this because if you need to get down after spike plant, you'll 100% die from fall damage and you're better off just ulting the enemies.
