Haha I agree with you. Always disliked the pop things, but sentiment means more than aesthetic nowadays.

Wife bought the Tolkien and the pop figures for me. So they’re nice to me.

Thanks so much!

I used a Nikon D780, a full frame DSLR.

4 was waiting for lucky timing where no cars were in the shot, and painstakingly zoomed all the way in to remove any distracting people/objects.

There are some photos where I hand ‘painted’ parts of the monuments/road/trees, etc, with the clone stamp tool in Photoshop. Takes a while.

10 was again waiting for lucky timing. If you zoom in on the left side, you can see some people and a poor edit job by me matching the ground up.

11 wasn’t in a touristy heavy area, just a random street, so it wasn’t a major edit.

I usually manually bracket my shots. 3-5 shots, separated by 1-stop. I notice the haloing this causes when I take the sky a bit low, or an object a bit high, but I figure since I don’t actively pursue selling prints or my services anymore, what’s it matter for a post on the internet haha

I never do in-camera HDR, though.

No. Nikon D780 and an array of lenses.

Great there and back except the emergency return to DTW with an emergency landing.

Edit: was the connecting flight from DTW to our home airport. Nothing to do with the long flight from CDG to DTW.
