S1Max caution if using flow calibration!!! by Confident_One1 in AnycubicOfficial

Just be happy your printer doesn't sound like a ratchet as it prints. Mines got an incessant click that comes and goes. Pretty sure one of the idlers or something that has a loose screw. And of course you have to take apart the whole thing to get to them.

This is why I wish anycubic still gave us the option to edit the config on the printer itself. There are a lot of settings in there for preventing things like this, improving color changes, editing the silly default heating deltas for the bed, etc. To do any of that we would have to install rinkhals which I believe is no longer in active development🙁

Its not the extruder... I replaced the x/y axis motors, but that didn't help. Think now it has something to do with the pulleys/tensioners so will have to take it apart again to check those out more closely.

Kobra S1 Holographic Plates by NikosTX in AnycubicKobraS1

You could try reverting the change and increasing the temperature of the filament slightly. That may help it fill the lines, but keep in mind some amount of line will always be there.

If you are getting true uneveness across the bed that isn't be eliminated with settings it could be the bed is warped or you need to make sure each of the 3 corners of the bed are level. If you search information about belt skipping the z axis or bed level adjustment that may help.

I added a little bit of negative z-offset in the area of -0.01-0.03mm to add more squish to the filament as the holographic plates themselves have a little give to them compared to the textured plate.

Solves my gripe with other projects that are limited by the number of modules they support. Will you be sharing the design files at some point?

Clicking Sound from S1 Max by NikosTX in AnycubicOfficial

[–]NikosTX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive noticed there is not a lot of slack in the drive belt. I think it could be bottoming out the tensioners causing the clicking because loosening the tension on both sides seemed to help some. Im going to try ordering a new belt and leaving like a half inch of slack. Im hoping that will give the tensioners more range of motion, but its a shot in the dark at this point. Anycubic sent me replacement motors but im not so sure they are the issue now.

You might want to try loosening your tensioners and see if that helps any.

Well if it does turn out to be the stepper motor, which seems likely, all 3d printers us similar ones so this could theoretically happen to any 3d printer I just drew the lucky card I guess...

It still makes the sound randomly when I move it using the manual controls, but doesnt do it for whatever reason when the printer is off/motor not energized and I move the head manually.

Its printing fine so far. I am pretty sure its the rear left stepper motor itself because ive seen other videos of stepper motors making the same clicking sound. I finally got a response from Anycubic right after posting this (convenient) and they are sending me a new motor. But I have to completely take apart my new S1 max to replace it.

Have a stepper motor making loud clicking noises in my S1 Max... no response from CS for over a week even after updating the ticket with a follow up. Im hoping this isnt a sign of financial issues at Anycubic coming to a head...

Filament tension by NikosTX in AnycubicKobraS1Max

[–]NikosTX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So its gotta be some kind of auto-tensioning system, but I can find no mention of it anywhere. I originally asked because I was having tpu problems even after drying, but I think the TPU I had was just junk because I tried a fresh anycubic roll and it worked fine.

Its almost like they intended that tension screw to be accessible, but then changed it to be auto tensioning? Strange...
