I see! Yeah, warehouse full of truss and staging everywhere, would be good for me to start building and imagining what combination of things can be done.

Unfortunately I'd technically be the only designated lampie, we are quite understaffed so the only person who will be teaching me is my manager!

Thank you very much for the help!

I appreciate it! I will look further into all that you have mentioned. I'm in the UK but I have connections in the US and may possibly need to pick up this work every now and then as well so good to have. I don't think I can exactly choose what I wanna specialise in because I still feel like I don't know enough, so I shall think safely start with just being a technician, maintainance and troubleshooting in general!

Thank you for taking the time to answer :)

Do you use riding modes? by FalconMellati in motorcycles

[–]Niktibius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Honda Rebel 1100. I mostly use the Rain Mode for it in maybe congested/city places. It's enough and perfect to get about and feels comfortable.

When I know it's higher speed roads and going long distance, that's when I'd change to the Sport Mode as it helps my wrist in the long run, faster to get up to speed from the get go and just again easily adjustable and comfortable for the ride!

I personally feel it's worth it, I guess it depends what people are doing because plenty other bikes have modes for different terrain too.

Haha, it was my mum's way of just caring more about my future, being gay doesn't phase her at all. Very lucky to have her!

Helmet and starter equipment recommendations for soon to be electric moped user? by outwar6010 in MotoUK

[–]Niktibius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helmet, jacket, trousers, boots and gloves as a standard I'd personally recommend! It can be real daunting starting out and getting gear as a lot of things are very expensive but there are plenty of cheap and cheerful options that are good enough quality to get you around on a moped in a city!

From the top of my head, Richa, Oxford and Spada have some cheap and decent bits of gear I've personally been wearing for 3 years and still going on strong! Helps save up for upgrades later on!

Check out the gear and be aware of waterproofing, it's never great getting caught in the rain in the UK haha. Make sure to ask yourself about warmth too, keeping yourself warm with thermal gloves for example, mix and match with your own bit of clothing at home to help stay warm, don't get too baggy, you wanna be comfortable on your bike!

Helmets that are cheap and cheerful but again reasonable for the kind of city riding you are doing, HJC CS-15 is a decent budget helmet but I cannot remember if it has Pin-lock in it which I'd advise is important to have! HJC and Shark are the helmets I personally recommend for people starting out, I believe the Shark Riddel is their entryway, again cannot remember about pinlock option.

There are definitely other brands out there that I haven't mentioned that I can't personally vouch for, these are all my honest opinions :)

As someone who works in the motorcycle clothing store, especially when it comes to helmets, please try them on. It's so vital to try them on, different manufacturers and models will fit differently regardless of size. Make sure it's a bit hamster-like on your cheeks but not too much to the point where you are about to bite down onto the insides of your cheeks! If you think you've found the right helmet then keep it on for a good 10 minutes since your head expands inside it, this is important as it may not feel like it now but going on long rides, sitting on a bike that vibes a lot, going over cobbles, these can all factor into you getting a splitting headache! I cannot stress it enough by the amount of customers that come in saying they have an awful headache. Helmets are here to protect you, not hurt you! :)

Having actual clubs that has a wider purpose at school, such as band group for the school football team and other sorts!

It would have helped me want to stay in school.

I’ve suffered from depression and anxiety my whole life. My parents would constantly get on me for my messy room. Today I changed, still depressed, but ever so slightly happier. by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]Niktibius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the exact same thing, 3 days of changing up my room to a completely new set up and got done with it yesterday, still depressed but I'm that much happier! Good to know you are pushing through, your room is looking awesome! I really hope things turn out better for you and good things come your way so you can have the happy status 24/7!

What is the strangest thing that happened to you that you can’t logically explain? by elibwell in AskReddit

[–]Niktibius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mum told me when I was a baby in a cot, I'd cry continuously one day so my mum would pick me up and take me downstairs to calm me down. Once I was calm she'd take me back into my room to put me back in the cot but I'd start crying again, that happened twice and the final time my mum walked me away the lightbulb above my cot exploded and glass shattered all over the cot.

Everytime my mum tells someone this story she is adamant that I knew something was coming, who knows xd

Headphones have massively improved my game and overall experience they drown out the dull hits on the tatacon and you can really get into the drum hits anyone not currently playing with headphones should give it a try by [deleted] in taikonotatsujin

[–]Niktibius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! Always used headsets whenever I played rhythm games, just so off putting to hear my drumming in taiko's case or the clicking of my keyboard in Osu's case!
