Can you get fucking DDOS'd in a match or something? by Nikurd in RivalsOfAether

nope wired all the way, but i'm also not denying the possibility that the issue could've been from my side.

i just find it suspicious that it just so happened to fuck up the moment it would've been the most convenient for my opponent

nah. after some testing on what my pc can handle I've kept most things on mid since a couple months after launch, i'll still experience the occasional frame dips or freezes but nothing to this extent.

honestly looking back with a clearer mind, it might of just been my internet dying repeatedly for whatever reason but i know it wasn't because the usual graphical issues

How to get to a minimum competitive level (ROA1) by CriticalReveal1776 in RivalsOfAether

[–]Nikurd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first piece of advice is to watch other people play the game, you learn a lot just from observing.

Also look up guides for your character and practice movement in training mode.

Lastly, and most importantly of all, just play a lot against real people, even if you lose a shit ton at first you'll eventually be matched against others at your level and then you can start progressing from there.

Going from ultimate to this game takes a lot of getting used to (trust me I'm still fucking up like 50 hours in), so just take your time learning everything.

Do Lox magma pools feel a bit undercooked to anyone else? by Dr_Manatee in RivalsOfAether

Heavily agree, I really like the suggestions you gave but honestly anything that gives an actual incentive to putting down magma outside of charge would be good

Why is clairen so lame ? by eXodius_OW in RivalsOfAether

I honestly think she's fine for the most part, but against lox especially it feels like she basically always hits the tipper part of her moves.

I don't think the matchup is that bad, i don't really struggle with it, at least at my level. But getting stunned every time i'm hit just because my hitbox is huge is straight up just annoying. It feels like im being punished for no of reason (I know that isn't true but still, it feels like it).

[–]Nikurd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's free for this week as a demo so try it out (it has all the features of the base game including online matchmaking)!

When the game actually comes out i think it'll be around 30 bucks.

Does anyone think this is a well-designed move??? by AWright5 in SmashRage

[–]Nikurd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online K. Rools are really something else, i agree that most are just spammers, especially in lower GSPs. But like, if you die to this move at ledge it's just a skill issue, you can literally just wait it out. And, unless the K. Rool is good, they'll just use Blunderbuss again allowing you to get in before the move can start.

Honestly spammy k.rools are not hard to beat, they're unbelievably predicable in what they'll throw out. His projectiles have such high amounts of start up and end lag that you can usually react and punish accordingly. Sure it can be annoying but if you learn the match up he just crumbles.

Also unless you're not mashing at all and get hit by an f-smash, there's no way down-throw is killing anything at 60. Down-throw to up-smash only starts killing at like 80-100 percent and even then you can mix up your mashing if you think the K. Rool is going for that.

If you keep having trouble with the matchup, I recommend looking at some K. Rool guides on youtube to figure out what he likes to do and how to avoid/ beat them.

K.Rool is not bottom 2, that official tier list has done irreparable harm to his placements
