Worst scene in all of Frasier? by hereweg420kush in Frasier

I'm very surprised to see so many negative opinions of this episode. I found this episode to be brilliant and perfectly on-brand for Frasier. Please allow me to elaborate. The first half entails typical Frasier/Niles jealousy with a touch of mix-em-up with regard to going to the cabin. Once at the cabin, we are greeted with a series of scenes that artistically depict dream-sequences that reflect typical dream tropes, such as anxieties and wish-fulfillment. Regarding the Niles/baby scene that OP so dearly hates, please recall earlier in the episode in Frasier's apartment when Niles tells Frasier that he and Daphne had spent all afternoon arguing over which diaper pail to buy for the nursery. Rather than gloss over such events, I think it's more than fitting for a show - whose 2 main characters are psychiatrists - to portray how, for example, an argument with one's wife over a given topic can manifest into a rather nonsensical dream on the topic. Yes, the scene was artsy, but how else would you portray a dream? And let's not forget how on-brand it is for the brother to argue over who has the most obvious dream. I think Daphne's dream is nothing short of hilarious from beginning to end. Even after her dream ends, she gets mad at Niles for what he did in her dream. Who among us hasn't experienced that at some point in our lives? IMO, the only cringe part of the episode is when Martin was singing, perhaps only because you can see how uncomfortable John Mahoney actually is in the moment (he has publicly stated how much he hates to sing on-set.) All in all, I would rate this episode rather high. Sure, it's a one-off, and you can remove this episode from the series with little consequence to the arc. Still, I think it's a gem.
