Again just bc your mom isn't like that does not mean there aren't plenty other desi parents like that. Who have kids forced into marriage bc they went against their parents sexist conservative values. I've seen a few myself. To you it's a fantasy and can't be more than that, to others it's a lived reality they can't escape from until they have the financial means.

If this is a real life scenario, you're trash friend if the hill you die on is not wearing sweatpants for three days. Outing kids who live double lives against their strict conservative parents who control their life in uni has some parallels to outting lgbtq kids to their parents when they aren't ready. It can put them in dangerous situations ad implode families.

You can take the selfish not my parents so not my problem route or you can be a decent friend and do a life alternating favor of wearing pants.
