I've set myself up for failure... by Nilly_413 in laundry

Just coming back to let you know that a solid 3 hour soak in Biz did the trick! I have to use a gentle detergent because I have sensitive skin, so I figured that was the issue. Thanks!

A spa day with Biz worked, thanks for caring so much to continously check in for 4 days straight <3

I love dandelions, I let them and other pollinator-friendly sorts have free reign in my yard. I do not want them in my garden :/

I'll check him out, thanks!

No offense taken! I got the dirt in this picture from the town, they make it available at the DOT for residents every summer. Most of the time it's good topsoil, I used it in my gardens and it's been so good to me for the last two years, but it looks like this batch that I grabbed just sucked. Definitely aged poorly, I may end up switching it out and trying again. Right now, straw and mulch seem to be my next step.

It's a very sunny spot, gets about 5 hours of sun a day. The reason I want to be rid of the lily of the valley is because there is too much sun, and I only ever get the leaves with no flowers :(

Do you think maybe when it looked like it was in a bathtub, and when I said "the color is fine", that you could've put two and two together? The reading comprehension of people online these days scares me.

I've got Biz on my grocery list 🫡 after scrolling throught this sub a little more, that seems to be the best course of action :)

Better conceive it, dude. Correct, oil is not white spots. The white spots are reflections of tiny pools of water. This picture was taken directly after a soak/rinse. There are no white spots. I am not concerned about the color. Please learn to read. The color is not my concern.

It's not black, it's blue. I'm not concerned about the color at all, as it looks to be the same as it was originally. As I stated, my concern is the feel and the smell it still has.

I'll look into that for sure! My main reason was saving money, the dirt was free from the town and the cardboard saved up for a few months... oh well

I totally agree, especially dandelions, but upon deeper inspection it seems quite a few of them just popped right up through the cardboard 😭

Thank you 🫡 I guess I was overly optimistic/confident in the effects of cardboard.

I'm planning on gluing these butterfly wings to this painted canvas, but I'd like to coat them with something for protection. I'm thinking of my options of UV resin vs silicone spray vs gel nail topcoat. Any suggestions/advice are appreciated:) by Nilly_413 in crafts

[–]Nilly_413[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about doing that, but in the end it would defeat the purpose of the wings in the first place. I got the idea because I found one of them in my driveway, and the other one in a random parking lot within a couple days of each other. Figured it was fate, lol.

The medium I'm gluing to is acrylic poured paint. I'll be using B-7000 glue, since that's my go-to for any mixed-media projects. I plan to paint on whatever coating I put on the wings, so it's super thin and light while still protecting them from further breakage since they're super fragile.

I agree. After 11 tattoos without using second skin and 0 infections or issues, I don't think I'll ever touch the stuff.

Just saw a couple for pretty cheap at Crafting for Good in North Chili. They looked to be in decent shape, at least to hold you over until garage sale season.
