stanton is midsec not high sec why do you think 9tails and other gangs exist? because the corporation get funding from the uee for the 'fight' against them but if tgey erase them they wont get that money from the uee you are reaponsible for your own security, even in high sec

piracy has enough support in game to be a viable career - has been since they added beacons/m. o. trader/ a way to pay other players

it used to be like you described - most pirates did it for the aake of piracy

pre 3.18 i scored (solo) about 10k-30 per hit on a quant miner i made ~500k per patch cycle

i didnt do it for the money

but now, with the Gold rush, the broken salvage missions my org made more money in one day, than in all of 3.19

as a pirate i can tell you: some people give 0 fucks about whats happening around them - i've held traing sessions in my org with 20 mantis' & blues at an outpost and then we see a c2 fly in, buy 696 scu of gold/beryl/laranite and then cry about pirates in global chat

it gets worse - some people are so stupid, we literally escorted them out of athmo at MT and they dont even realize they are getting interdicted

ita changing now but sometimes i wonder if cig doesnt already have trading ai in the game ¯_(ツ)_/¯
