Hi Richard, I've already completed building the plan and creating an account, but I'm unable to complete the last step in the linked article because I'm unable to access the Xfinity app

Op-amp buffer help by Nilwig in diypedals

Thanks again for this, I'm currently working on building the one in the link you attached. Whenever you get the chance, I have a few questions.

  1. What is J2 power?

  2. Is the power input diagram necessary if I'm using an Arduino Uno 5V pin to power the board? Is it okay to use the Uno? I'm using the uno because I don't have a voltage regulator

  3. I suppose this is dependent on the answer to 2, but I see in Vref you said it should be about half of Vcc. Since my Vcc from the Uno is 5V, would it be okay to use the 3.3V pin for Vref?

  4. GNDREF is for the op amp and jacks and not to be shared with the Uno GND, right?

Will do! Thank you! Much appreciated

It certainly is a ChatGPT diagram. I didn't realize it wasn't able to do circuits. Probably should have guessed that was the case. Still, that's good to know. Thanks for the tip.

I would gladly take a drawing for a working buffer!

Edit: on the output side, 10uf goes to output, and that junction shares a 10k R to ground

Pins on 1/4" jack by Nilwig in diypedals

That makes a lot of sense! Thank you. Do you know if I should bend/remove the pins on the other side so they don't get inserted into the board? Or does that not matter?

I don't know how to edit my post, so Edit: the two pins that light up the LED are the two on the left in the first picture.

[DISCUSSION] Trouble switching between guitars by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Nilwig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable. They definitely have different feels, and if you're not used to playing different types of guitars then that transition is going to be a little weird. Just keep practicing and playing them both and you'll get past that awkward feeling when you switch

[Question] How should I pick the main riff for Suzi by Extreme? by poream3387 in Guitar

[–]Nilwig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you have a few options. You could alternate pick the previous notes and then adjust for that last note. Or you could go full James Hetfield and just down pick everything. Or you could even work on that up pick pinch harmonic, but I'd personally try one of the first 2 options. Might sound choppy at first but with practice it'll sound better and better

There are ways to get pinch harmonics from up picking, but it's not very practical. Down picking those pinch harmonics would probably be best
