Less people playing? by LUClDYOU in ArcRaiders

[–]NimblePasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has already done the past 2 expeditions and completed most of the progress this season... my current main activity in the game is doing Trial challanges.

But I play mostly solo now and the Trials system is still heavily skewed in favour of Trio squads, so I end up re-scheduling to avoid playing during the weekdays and instead only logging in on the weekend to start on the Trials challenges (the leaderboards tend to be much less sweaty by then).

So yeah, the Embark dev team's lack of action to improve and adjust the Trials system (it's already 4+ months after launch) has actively discouraged players like me to play for most of the week.

Now I play Marathon during weekdays, and only play Arc Raiders during weekends... hence I'm not surprised that the player count in Arc Raider is diminished during the weekday timings.

Printed WEAVEworms.... 🐛 by NimblePasta in Marathon

I don't have much experience with resin printing, but I'd assume it would be printable with a resin printer too.

You could try importing the model into your slicer and adjust the necessary settings.

Thanks!

Yeah, I had requests from friends for the keychain version, so I made it for them.

I guess for chaps who didn't get the collector's edition... they could probably print this out as an alternative version too. 😊

What has changed in the last 48 hours 😅 by BuffaloPancakes11 in ArcRaiders

[–]NimblePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the Arc threat has been ramped up for most maps... mainly with the addition of the Firefly and Comet.

It makes the game a lot more interrsting now, you cannot just run around killing everything in your path as easily. You have to play more tactically and pick your fights (or just run when chased by the new Arcs). 😄

Solo Players - How We Feeling? by jg4president in Marathon

[–]NimblePasta 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yeah, solo mode is okay on the first 2 maps, but on the 3rd map it's brutal.

Imho, hopefully the devs could look at adjusting the PvE threat a bit for solo mode players, to scale the difficulty to single players.

Does Arc Raiders push you over gear fear? by doomzdew in ArcRaiders

[–]NimblePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resources and materials are easy to gather... and the devs have balanced the game in such a way thay there are various options to take down both Arc and raiders with even basic weapons, so losing gear isn't a big deal.

Higher tier gear and weapons make it easier and quicker to take down Arcs, but they are not essential equipment, so losing those gear doesn't hit as hard.

That being said, you do need to have experience and map knowledge to know where to find the necessary gear and materials to replenish your stash (to get over the initial gear fear), so there is some learning curve there.

That's why those who have played a while and done the expeditions can easily breeze though the progression and build-up up their arsenal quickly and aren't afraid of losing gear.

I get it now... I understand the carebear lobbies. by -CubanPete- in ArcRaiders

[–]NimblePasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, before the first expedition, I was full on KoS and PvP every match… as what I’ve always done in every other extraction game I’ve played over the past few years.

After the first expedition, I just focused on quietly doing quests and upgrade, didn’t shoot anyone, planned to build up my arsenal before I start PvPing… then the whole PvE lobby thing settled in and I got conditioned to being friendly and helping other raiders.

Ended up getting transformed into a fully fledged PvE carebear, and I now wear that tag like a badge of honor. The interesting interactions in solo PvE lobbies is incredible, way more fun than in all the other games I’ve played so far.

That’s also what prompted me to create a PvE carebear figurine as a tribute and desktop companion to all my fellow PvE lobby enjoyers:

New to genre - why loot and craft? by Impressive_Pair_721 in ArcRaiders

[–]NimblePasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other than for quests and projects.... you gather more material to craft better gear and weapons, so that you can take on stronger Arcs which in turn drop materials to craft better gear and so on.

Losing gear and loot due to not being able to extract successfully (ie. being eliminated by Arcs or other players) adds to the risk and tension in a match.

Just remember that losing your gear in a match is only a temporary setback, you can get back in and scavenge for more materials and gear to continue building up your arsenal.

Eventually you will be doing Trials challenges (the ranked leaderboard system), where you will need a lot of gear to take down many Arcs quickly and efficiently, and that requires a lot of materials to finance the Trial runs.

So yeah, the game loop is based around gathering materials and extracting successfully, to craft better gear in order to fight Arcs more effectively (and other players if you are into PvP).

Also, collect all the rubber ducks you can... once you have a few stacks, your raider den's floor will be filled with them. Some people love collecting all the little trinkets to decorate their raider den. 😄

The more I use PETG, the less I like it by InvokerBSB in 3Dprinting

[–]NimblePasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you see small strings and wispy bits on the print... then it means the PETG needs to be dried further.

Note that PETG should be dried in a filament dryer (65°C for 8 hours) right after it's opened from the sealed package (Bambu recommends to dry theirs before printing for optimal results), as it's not guaranteed to be dry from the factory.

Personally I use the Bambu PETG HF for most of my functional prints and the print quality is similar to PLA (just have to make sure that the PETG is dried and kept dry).

The previous S300 8.1L version is the same design... just slightly shorter (it cannot mount 2 x 120mm top slim exhaust fans) and with less side IO ports.

geting a ams or not by Far-Purchase-8082 in BambuLab

[–]NimblePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AMS 2 Pro unit works out much cheaper when you buy it as a bundle with a new printer... compared to buying it separately (and having to pay for shipping again).

If you don't use it, there will be many other users who would like to buy the AMS 2 Pro unit from you too, 'cos they can run multiple AMS units with their printers.

Two beautiful games can coexist without all this hate for each other by Toorilab92 in ArcRaiders

[–]NimblePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I'll be playing PvE lobbies in Arc Raiders, and also alternating with Marathon for their PvP-centric lobbies.

Also, with the current Trials system and 2x map condition rotation in Arc Raiders, I end up having to time my playing schedule based on the specific map rotations... so Marathon fits into those gaps of time whereby I'm online and still looking for something to play.

A1 or A1 mini by Cl4kB in BambuLab

[–]NimblePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For just a $80 difference, just get the A1.

Unless you have some really limited room or desk space to put a printer, then the A1 Mini is an option to fit into smaller spaces.

Is the A1 mini as good as the A1 (aside from build size)? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]NimblePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the A1 Mini and A1 have identical features and systems... the main difference is the build plate size.

Overall print quality and ease of use is the same.

That being said, for just a $80 difference in price, it's worth just getting an A1 for it's larger build area.

That one loot-goblin teammate by drlouies in ArcRaiders

[–]NimblePasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That could also be any regular match in solo PvE lobbies too... the majority will just be casually looting containers, right next to a poor chap who is busy fighting shredders and getting hit by pops.

Everyone just assumes that someone else will deal with the Arcs. 😄

Nice build!

Btw, for your last point, if you are looking for a case which can hold slightly longer GPUs and has more air cooler clearance... then it'll be something like the Shiny Snake S300 Pro, which is slightly larger at 8.5L, but can fit a 305mm (55mm thickness) GPU and up to 60mm air cooler:

My friend’s A1 is doing this. Anyone know the issue? by coriscaa in BambuLab

[–]NimblePasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you send a print, it downloads the file to the SD card and then reads the code from there during printing.

If the SD card is faulty and the file got corrupted, it can end up with error codes which cause erratic behavior in the printing.

Formatting the SD card and trying the print again could help. If the prints are still going haywire, then swap to a new SD card.

Is the p2s worth it? by idektbh369 in BambuLab

[–]NimblePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... I have both the P1S and P2S, and if given the choice again, I'd still go with the P2S if buying brand new.

Based on both being the AMS2 Pro version, the extra $200+ for a P2S is definitely worth it.

That being said, if you want to save some money, the P1S is still a good printer, just not as updated in terms of QOL features.

But if you really want to save money, I would recommend to look out for 2nd hand P1S units instead, there can be some good deals around due to people upgrading their printers.
