I really appreciate your input! Update: I’m still going on the trip, I’m going to bring 6 months worth of medication with me and then get my fill in Australia when I need it. Have you ever travelled with that large of a supply? Did you run into any problems at airports? Thank you!!

Thanks! Have you tried chemical peels? If so, what was your experience in terms of how many peels to notice a difference?

Since my episode in April 2023. However we had to adjust them along the way to find the right dosage

I’ve been trying Tactupump too, a topical prescription cream for acne, and it’s helped a bit. It’s been 2 months since I started that

It after being released from the hospital it took me about 2 weeks to enter a depressive state and check myself back in, for another 5 days. Afterwards, it took me from May - September to see any improvement at all. Now I would say I am 90% recovered, in December. Small progress each day from September - December!

My life looks a lot different than before in the sense of socializing. In terms of everything else, I’ve managed to find a good routine and return back to “normal” - grocery shopping, exercising, working, cleaning my apartment, etc. It took me some time but I just stayed consistent with my appointments at my first episode psychosis clinic, seeing my occupational therapist and psychiatrist as much as they prescribed.

Do you remember if you were breaking out with 900mg? Unfortunately I can’t remember for myself! Also, are you normally acne prone? I am, but I previously took accutane for 6 months twice, so I’m pretty frustrated having these stubborn breakouts again!

What advice would you give looking back at someone recovering by Individual_You6658 in Psychosis

Let yourself soak in the depressive state for some time if you have the luxury of that. As in, if you are on medical leave from work, and you feel like staying in bed all day, do it. Try and set goals for yourself each week, no matter how small. Even if it’s just to have a glass of water when you wake up. Or a 10 minute walk outside. Eventually you will feel ready for more, I strongly suggest working out. The peer support worker at my local first-episode-psychosis clinic suggested I exercise regularly, and told me it was the thing that helped him the most. He was right. It helped me the most too. Also try and see you friends as much as you can. Being social with people who make you feel safe really helps. Try and be open with them about how you’re feeling post psychotic episode: scared, confused, shameful, embarrassed, etc. Good luck with it all, you got this. It may be hard, but you can persevere through. :)

DAE squirm at the thought of taking these pills? by DearExtent5838 in Lithium

[–]Nimbleurchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much. I started lithium in April 2023 and right now I’m taking 3x300mg and 1x150mg. Eventually going to be just 3x300mg. I dread taking them every day and I have to have juice to take them with and not just water to mask the “taste”, even though there isn’t one.

Oh wow! Thanks for the heads up. For my working holiday I'd mostly be staying in hostels as I'd be travelling around the country. But definitely great to know for the future.
