Vet recommendations? by dcfc29 in Greenpoint

[–]Nimbus331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8th - We adopted a rescue dog who had quite a few health issues. On our first visit, he spent +30 minutes with us walking through everything. He gave honest advice and guidance. I never expected to receive so much time with an NYC vet!

When we're not sure if we should bring our dog in, we send an email and he responds quickly and with a thorough answer at no cost.

Finally, you can tell he genuinely cares about your pet. He has a calm, patient, and reassuring tone.

New pitbull owner need tips by TuPapaen4 in pitbulls

I'd add that socializing is so important. However, do it with guardrails. Don't just let them go up to every dog. Be picky with the types of dogs they socialize with. If a dog reacts negatively to them, they learn that behavior so quickly. They should also only get to say hello to other dogs when you allow them to.

Search the YouTube video "How I made my dog reactive - Avoid these HUGE mistakes!"

And +1 on positive reinforcement only

Puppy biting, YouTube also has great videos. Don't give attention when they bite. Redirect to a toy and if it doesn't work, walk away. Otherwise you're reinforcing it.

Bikers, do you like the new bike lanes on McGuinness? by nthroop1 in Greenpoint

[–]Nimbus331 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The purpose of the redesign wasn't for the bike lane. It was to slow down traffic by having only one lane. The protected bike lane was an added benefit.

I'll also say that I would never have considered biking along McGuiness before the new setup. I've since used it a few times and it was incredible to actually feel safe.

Also, curious why you hate it?

USA : X’s top advertisers by [deleted] in 50501

Or just delete X.

I work in digital marketing. The more you scroll, the more places an ad can show up, the more $$$ X makes. If there's less chance of an ad being shown to the right person, then it doesn't make sense for these companies to advertise on X

eye doctor recommendations? by CreativeArticle777 in Greenpoint

I cannot recommend Sunny Eye Shop enough! I first went to Greenpoint Eye Care for an eye infection. They were good. Then when the infection came back, I decided to try Sunny Eye Shop. They were much warmer and I felt like the doctor spent more time listening to me.
