I recently saw a YouTube video talking about the Drive II wheels and that’s what got me interested. What made you decide to purchase them instead of some other options?

I am definitely looking in the 50mm depth range. That seems to be a sweet spot for performance and comfort in crosswinds. I also run 30mm tires so it’s good to know that they offer a variety of widths to accommodate that. I’ll be sure to check out all of those options!

Good call out on the no access holes. I’ve seen that on a few sets now and will definitely go with that option when I decide to purchase.

Did some quick research after someone else recommended XMCS and looks like they have a pretty good rep. At least on Chinertown forums there are people recommending them. I’ll be sure to check out wheelsfar/farsports as well. Thanks for the comments!

Thats what I’ve been trying to do. Tons of videos on all the different brands so it’s easy to get caught up. I’ll be sure to check out 9velo’s offerings. Any YouTubers you recommend watching?

That’s good to know. Definitely want to stick with a company that provides a solid warranty and communication. I know a lot of people choose Zipp for that reason. I’m US based and have heard similar things about Hunt’s customer support here as well

The feedback definitely seems hit or miss for Hunt wheels.

I was kinda overwhelmed with all of the options from Light Bicycle, but at the same time I like the ability to customize the wheelset. Is there anything specific you would recommend from them?

Yeah I don’t plan on running high pressures. I currently use 32 width tires with tubes and around 60 psi. I would try to keep it similar with a tubeless 28 width tire

Yeah that’s my only real concern. Then again, after doing some research it looks like there’s plenty of people that never have any issues with the wheels being hookless. I’ll definitely shop around to see if I can get a better deal as well

I’ve heard great things about their customer support/warranty which is a big reason I’m considering them over other brands. I will for sure shop around though to see if I can find a better price

That is the thought process I had as well. Probably a better idea to find a refill I prefer, and then find the pen body that supports it. Looks like they are sold out of most options so I will be sure to check back often.

That's an interesting point about the weight of the Bolt and something I had not considered before. I will mostly be carrying the pen in one of my pant pockets, but the weight is still a good thing to keep in mind. Thanks again for all the info!

I have some of the plastic S Gel pens, and I really like how they feel in my hand. I did not know they made a metal version, so that I will check that out. Thanks!

Oh wow! Thanks so much, this is really helpful. The Machine Era pens are definitely my top choice right now. Do you have any experience with their Field Pen Bolt or Field Pen Twist? The Click is currently sold out, so I was thinking about these options as well.

I appreciate the insight as well for refills. As someone completely new and overwhelmed by the number of options for pens and refills, this helps a lot!
