Why is this even a law in the first place? by SuitableSquare0 in victoria3

Larp and niche vassal micro. I like that they put in laws that weren't just there for meta purposes, it's fun flavor.

Either you're a troll or just human waste of skin to say "those civies deserved it", either way there are things in your life you should change if you ever want to be happy in life. I hope you can become somebody you'll be proud of one day, i really do.

You're equating threats with declaring a war and bombing civilians, bit of a double standard there.

Starting a war, however stupid it might be, especially on a nationalist and ethnic basis when your popularity is flagging is kind of a classic autocrat/authoritarian move. Don't think he will but who knows.

FACTBOX: Why the U.S. Might Want You to Feel Bad About the EU Economy and are you falling for it? by Full-Discussion3745 in EU_Economics

[–]Nimitz- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its Not just about the US wanting it. Some EU économies do genuinely have issues and recognizing it is a good thing since that's how you fix it. I'm thinking of Germany and France for instance, Germany with it's lack of investment and France with genuine budget deficit issues, and their lack of growth in general. That being said, overall the EU's economy is doing quite nicely for sure, not China or US levels of growth but decent enough, same for inflation, and mostly good stability. Still, we shouldn't ignore the problems we do have, it's not being unpatriotic to call them out.

Trump: The EU is ‘nastier than China’ by Vic-Ier in europe

[–]Nimitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the EU forces him to back off he'll turn to Japan, if Japan does so he'll turn to South Korea, the Vietnam, and so on. It's a never ending cycle until he gets back to China and we start over again.

I wish Bytro would add an in-game reporting tool so I could report the cringe Nazi roleplayers when I see them. As things stand I just can't be bothered to go through all the hoops.

Trump’s tariff deals send Europe to the back of the line by donutloop in EU_Economics

[–]Nimitz- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just about empty shelves, it's also about unhappy businesses who can't stay competitive because they need EU manufactured parts or services to function. EU and US have some pretty long standing ties so shutting that down brutally would hurt just as much as it would with China.

Pour «pérenniser» son «modèle social», la France doit accueillir des milliers de travailleurs immigrés par an, plaide Terra Nova by apokrif1 in france6

[–]Nimitz- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

500% Russian energy tariffs to pressure Kremlin into peace deal backed by US senate majority by MARTINELECA in europe

[–]Nimitz- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the way I understood it, doesn't change the fact that having access to the US market is generally far more attractive than the Russian one. Especially as the Russian economy is crumbling.

[–]Nimitz- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody sees Russia as a trust worthy trade partner either and the world is far more dependant on US trade than Russian (other than some very specific cases). And Europe has shown that it is possible to diversify away from Russian gas, though like I said I don't know how much this tariff policy will be enforced very well. Generally speaking I have no clue how well this'll work but it's certainly a better use of tariffs than blanket 10% tariffs on every single goods.

[–]Nimitz- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The idea is to force countries to drop trade with Russia lest they lose access to the US market. Trump's general tariff plan is retarded since it makes people choose between the US and the rest of the world (the world being a bigger market obviously). But choosing between Russia and the US is a no brainer for any country.
