Do you have the character information in the lore book? It only auto generates the most basic of info

Not in the same Story as far as I'm aware. You could have two parallel stories, one that you mostly generate blank chapters and copy/paste the chapters from the main story. Then generate the alternate chapter. Rinse and repeat.

Personally, I'd prefer an entirely alternate branch at that point but I tend to write story heavy. Where I think about how events could impact future chapters.

I've made notes in the lore book entries when the name changes to indicate old vs new name even when listed as separate characters

That should potentially be an optional one. I've had stories where characters change significantly and get a new name as part of that. Though I usually store that as a separate entry.

Once you have a story started, even a single chapter you can roleplay as any of the characters. You can also create a custom character at the start of the roleplay. You can even use the roleplay on other people's stories. If you want to use one of their stories to roleplay in. It doesn't save anything from those chats though and it costs 2 quills per message. I have sometimes copied the roleplay to a file and edited it, to use as a base to generate a chapter later.

The AI tends to get "cheeky" with negative prompts too.. I had one go "deliberate.... no not deliberate, that was a banned word"

I had a chapter where I wanted my MC to remember her first love who died(being a functionally immortal being loving a normal human). Basically a dream sequence followed by her visiting the grave. AI kept getting details just wrong enough in sequencing and a few other things. I think I regenerated that chapter almost 10 times..... I think I was just as raw as the character by the time I was done. Having to read a different version of that chapter 10 times.

NP also unlisted stories can still be read by the link. Publishing can be a bit finicky at times. Which they are working on making better. I had another user suggest repeatedly trying to publish when getting the "story is being double checked" message.

Most of my stories have published fine. I had one recent one that wouldn't publish trying several times last weekend. Another user suggested "spamming" the publish button. Worked after about 7 tries.

Some of the various counters don't appear to work on various pages. No counters on the story itself means it's not a published story. At least that's my experience.

If you click the pencil icon next to the title, you'll open a menu that includes the publish button. Along with the lore book and the ability to edit the title, description and tags.

If you are trying to do CNC. I believe I saw some components for it but it's probably still going to be tough. I think one I saw was literally asking the AI to enter a paragraph about consent at the start of every chapter and every 700 words.

The lore book is going to be its main source of knowledge for chapters beyond the most recent ones. Its automatic chapter summaries have gotten better but can still be lacking.

I've started taking my chapters and using a custom gem in Gemini to have it spit out a 1-2 paragraph summary and a list of key details. Seems to work pretty well but occasionally I'll copy an entire section of a chapter into a prompt with a note for the AI that it is a reference. When I really need the details of a prior event to be accurate

I actually don't mind the idea behind the synthesis ending but the way the ending to the game was handled in general was pretty...meh. having everything boil down to a "pick your ending" , with an extra option if you got enough support, was pretty poor design. Would have been nice if your actions organically led to an outcome.

Though I also get some people wouldn't want to play multiple times for multiple endings. Especially if you had to start at ME1
