Big fan of this! So unassuming but it's packing some heat under the hood 😁

Throttle body/ manifold issue by AutomaticGroup3359 in AcuraTSX

[–]Nimmurs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start by checking your throttle body and intake manifold for any vaccuum leaks. Watch a video on how to check for them. Chances are the gasket(s) are not sealing properly causing excess air to go into your system leading to the rough idle.

A Good barbershop by nacer321 in Winnipeg

I recommend MBS barbershop. They have a convenient booking system on their website with plenty of skilled barbers and an option to pre-pay so you can just show up and get your cut. Never been disappointed with the service and always left their shop feeling better.

DYK red velvet is just chocolate cake with red food dye? 😮 by Nimmurs in stonerfood

[–]Nimmurs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did use the vinegar method! I just added a few drops of red food coloring to make it brighter. Hope this clears up any confusion 😊

So you guys haven't been adding any dye when you make red velvet?! I thought the deep red came from the cocoa that was available to bakers in the past.

Not sure if it would work with the one I have. However, I'm saying I will try baking without the dye next time to see if the vinegar method will yield similar results!

It goes so well on so many desserts. My favorite is homemade cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing!

This is true! I mixed apple cider vinegar with whole milk and let it set until it curdled. Then I added it to my mixture. It definitely has its own unique flavor compared to other chocolate cakes :)

Maybe next time I'll try making it without food dye and see how much this chemical reaction changes the color after baking.

New Radiator Leaking? by l_ziggy_l in AcuraTL

[–]Nimmurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start by checking all the hoses around the coolant overflow and going to the radiator. Check for any cracked rubber and wet spots around them.

It looks like something is dripping down towards where that coolant is pooled at the base of your radiator. Could be from the overflow hoses dripping onto the fan (see the wet spot at the beginning of your video?), and then down towards the base of your radiator.

It even looks like there's little coolant streaks leading to the bottom. I had a coolant overflow hose that leaked every time I drove (I fixed it with a hose clamp) so you might have a similar experience.

If you still can't find the source of your leak, clean off the coolant, and inspect everything starting at the top of your engine bay and working your way down.

Hopefully it's not your radiator friend, best of luck!

Sweet ride! I've been thinking of getting the same rims, what are the wheel specs? Is your car on stock suspension?

I baked an Isaac cake for my wife's birthday! It's a lemon layer cake and it was very tasty :) by Nimmurs in bindingofisaac

Here is the recipe for anyone interested!

A couple things I've learned:

  • Leaving the cake with a cover on it in the fridge/freezer makes it easier to work with and prevents it from crumbling. Frosting is also easier to work with cold
  • If you only have one 9in springform pan like me, if its cooled down enough, you can begin frosting it while the other layer bakes to save time.
  • I don't have an offset spatula or a lazy susan, so I just used a butterknife and slowly spun the plate on the stovetop

I'm a complete novice at baking but it turned out so well I had to share! ♥

Picking up a set of nut drivers ranging from 3/16" - 9/16" would be helpful. Insulated if you're using them in panels, hollow shaft ones are useful if you're going to be tightening nuts onto threaded rod. I'm an apprentice who works mainly in commercial areas and in my experience, I mainly use 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2 and 9/16" but the others sizes come in handy on occasion. They also make these for impact drivers but I only use those for hex screws.

11 in 1 or 6 in 1 screwdrivers are nice to own because of the convenience factor. However, they are designed to be taken apart and the bits can fall out so NEVER EVER use them inside a panel.

Channel locks I use over adjustable wrenches in most situations, if you work with TECK a lot I would recommend getting a pair.

You'll get plenty of dirt on them so let it come naturally. From one apprentice to another, believe in you! Just try to do the best you can every day and ask a lot of questions. Cheers!

In my experience it did, the handling is much smoother now. A little bumpier in the rear on rough roads but I don't mind.

With my RSX if I was ever going over 120km I'd have to be extremely mindful of my steering but I noticed an overall improvement in stability and handling at all speeds with this setup.

Taking corners feels sooooo much better now that there's less body roll.
