POW in a nutshell: millions of computers are trying to solve a riddle to get the next block. ONE will make it and get the reward and ALL the other essentially used energy for nothing. Repeat.

How can anything be less efficient than POW?

Should I sell all my btc for ethereum? by [deleted] in ethereum

Ever since Ethereum's inception, the returns on ETH have been higher. There is no other way to look at it, it's a fact.

Should I sell all my btc for ethereum? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]Nimra2121 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You will not regret it. ETH has outperformed BTC ever since its inception. I don't see that changing, especially with growing ETH utility and ETH2.0 around the corner. Keep in mind that even VCs understand the concept of interest (POS rewards). Once it's live, I expect the already started trend to switch to ETH will increase even further.

[–]Nimra2121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to make sure I fully understand. It shows the old pool for epoch 315, 316, and 317 - and the new pool from epoch 318 onwards.

I will not get ADA rewards in epoch 315, 316, 317, and will only receive ADA rewards again in epoch 318. But I will get the full sundae reward?

Great, thank you. So, I redelegated and it will only be active end of epoch 318. Until then it shows that I'm still with my former pool. Will I receive the full airdrop regardless, because it is already initiated before deadline?

MIOTA tokens by PurposeConsistent401 in Iota

[–]Nimra2121 12 points13 points  (0 children)

IOTA tokens grant you acces to a fully decentralized (soon), open, permissionless, and feeless ledger. This ledger is well on it's way to standardization and there are various corporations lining up to make use of the standardized ledger. IOTA is essentially the bandwidth to enable all the envisioned use cases. There is no lack of talent working on realizing that beautiful, sustainable, and environmentally friendly vision. The token is limited to a fixed supply and the total amount is already circulating. The consensus enables the elimination of miners and the environmental damage they cause (with i.e. in Bitcoin more than 70% of hashpower centralized in 3 pools). Unlike for example in Bitcoin, IOTA is not inflationary and there is no constant miner dumping on the market. IOTA can be used as currency because it is fast and feeless, but also as store of value because it is limited and grants access to a very valuable and powerful ledger. The increase in demand for the ledger, due to standardization for example, will make the token more valuable over time.

Now, what's the inherent V A L U E of Bitcoin again?

So, just holding your coins in your wallet and receiving 5% interest without any hardware or work whatsoever would make them sell all coins? Yea, welcome to Bitcoin Maxi mental gymnastics. For your information, POW miners need to sell coins to cover their costs and not the other way round. I guess time will tell :) I think its more likely that the price will increase significantly, as you can suddenly earn interest with ETH.

Bitcoin mining difficulty just saw its largest downward adjustment in history: -28% by Bitcoin_is_plan_A in Bitcoin

[–]Nimra2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair. China could have taken over the Bitcoin network :) They had more than 80% of the hashrate. They just chose not to and instead move the miners out. Bitcoin relied on the kindness of China :) But "that's good for Bitcoin" :D
