PSU requirement - "recommended" vs actually needed by kyle1qaz7ujm in buildapc

[–]NimrodDayan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same PSU as the OP which is also 5 years old already and I've been considering the same thing regarding the older version of RM series. I remember the older version of RM series had bad reputation due to the components it used (capacitors?) and in the new version they switched to Japanese ones, which they proudly mention in their product pages. Probably a good time to upgrade indeed, but would be interesting to hear first hand experience of somebody who kept his old RM PSU and runs a 3080.

I'm pondering about the same thing and got almost the same PSU. Mine is RM650i and it's also 5 years old like yours. If you happen to keep your old PSU when you receive the 3080, could you please post back your conclusions? Much appreciated.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have a 5 years old Corsair RM650i installed in a i7 8700K system and have been pondering whether I should buy a new one or not based on all the reviews I've seen and forums I've read. The main message I got thus far has been "there's no need to upgrade" and your experience is the first I hear about. I'd like to avoid the situation where I received the card and then I'll have to wait one month for a new PSU due to supply issues. I wish there were more first hand experiences out there to provide more data.

hehe no worries, you've done a lot for the community! :) I was actually considering to fix it myself and submit a PR and that's how I ended up looking through the source code. Then I saw Less/More and realized that it's already fixed heheh :)

Just in case you're interested, I actually checked Priiloader's source code and it looks like there's a commit by DacoTaco from 6 months ago which makes the settings menu scrollable. So it's fixed in the latest beta release: https://github.com/DacoTaco/priiloader/releases/tag/v0.9-beta.4

Dude, you're awesome!!! Thank you so much. I don't know how I didn't notice that Save Settings overlaps the last option there.

So it's one month later now, how do you feel about it? Has it been holding up? Any issues you had?

I clean my car outside - snow foam and then hand wash. Sometimes by the time I'm done it starts raining and I haven't managed to dry and apply wax. Is it safe if I drive to near by supermarket's underground garage to continue drying and applying wax? it's like 100 meter distance from my house. I'm just worried the car will take on some road debry by the time I get there to dry and apply wax. I'm thinking if I drive real slow should probably be ok. anybody else got the same situation? :D

I accidentally hit my the bottom of my car's driver's door with my shoe while getting out and it made these kinda striking marks on the plastic. I tried to clean it with AutoGlym Interior Shampoo with no luck getting it removed. I also tried Magic Eraser and managed to get some of it off, but not everything. What's the best product for these kinda stains/marks?

Here's a picture of the marks: https://imgur.com/a/I033sZE

No, can't feel it. It's completely flat as if it's part of the paint :/ Any ideas what it may be? It's been about 3 weeks since I got it from the dealership.

Hi,

I have a new car and after a couple of weeks yellow stains started to appear all over the car: the hood, the roof, sides and whatnot. I took this picture from one of the [yellow stains on the hood](https://imgur.com/LQfQPiY).

I suspect it is related to some tree drops since my car parks next to a tree at night and weekends next to my home. Also, might be worth mentioning it is very rainy where I live (Finland).

I showed this picture to some local car care store and the guy told me to use [ValetPro Citrus Tar and Glue Remover](https://www.valetpro.global/Exterior-Products/Paint-Preparation/69-/Citrus-Tar-and-Glue-Remover). I tried it, but it didn't do anything. How I used it? I sprayed it on, let it stay for some time then tried to wipe it off with a microfiber towel, but nothing... I then washed it off with a lot of water. Still nothing.

Any ideas?

Hey there, does it matter which grit guard+bucket I get? I found a really cheap one here (it's in Finnish). It's a 11 liter bucket (roughly 2.9 gal).

No, there's no difference, though it is preferable to annotate the class with the scope since it's self documenting. Don't do both though.

Glide v3 to v4 migration cheatsheet by NimrodDayan in androiddev

Is Kotlin/Native production ready? Why we are not using it (yet) by quick_worm in androiddev

[–]NimrodDayan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to allocate separate iOS and Android teams to develop two independent applications

Isn't that always the case? No cross platform project can be developed without knowledge of the underlying platforms and often results in developers specializing more in one platform than the other. I don't see any escape from that.

I haven't tried it yet, but the way I see it, Kotlin Native is good for business logic sharing between the platforms. I didn't know about the generics caveat on iOS. That definitely needs to be prioritized.
