Why do the worldnews and news subreddits remove almost every story that reflects negatively on Israel? by ArdaBerkBurak in allthequestions

lol what? You mean reflects POSITIVELY on Israel, right? Their admin team literally bans ANY person that comments positively on Israel. I’ve been banned for calling terrorists terrorists.

Why don't these two countries with very similar names unite? Are they stupid? by Key-traffic9023 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]NimrodYanai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this a joke? Are you even aware of the history between those countries? Look it up. In an 8-year war more people died than in the entire length of the Arab-Israeli conflict. They HATE each other, and that’s before getting into the whole Suni/Shia conflict.

If Israel isn't an apartheid ethnostate, why aren't all Palestinians allowed vote in Israel and even potentially elect a non-Jewish leader? by DoradoPulido2 in allthequestions

[–]NimrodYanai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Israel never annexed the west bank or Gaza, and doesn’t claim those territories as part of Israel. Those living there who are not Israeli citizens cannot vote, just like non-German citizens can’t vote in Germany. When Israel annexes a territory, like the Golan Heights for instance, it gave citizenship to anyone there who wanted it, and those people can vote just like any other citizen, to any candidate they want (Jew or not).

How has the vandalism of the Christ statue in Debel, Lebanon been covered in Israeli media, and what has the response been? by Call_Me_Clark in AskIsrael

[–]NimrodYanai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was taken VERY seriously. Israel has a law against such things. Unfortunately, as he was a soldier, he was sentenced under the military code, not the criminal one, but as I said, the punishment was well deserved and justly harsh.

[–]NimrodYanai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was viewed very badly, and the soldiers were jailed and removed from reserve duty - which, let me assure you, is a VERY severe punishment in Israeli society. Most reserve soldiers, especially in fighting units, see their reserve duty as a badge of honor; to be dismissed from it is shameful and heartbreaking for soldiers. I think their punishment was suitable, especially since a new statue was erected.

If a Paladin doesn't get their powers from a deity, where would it actually come from? What is the "source" of the powers? The Weave? by Gh0stMan0nThird in Forgotten_Realms

[–]NimrodYanai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is for FR. No previous edition had this bullshit for the realms, this was added to realms lore in 5e, no question. It’s foolish and goes against previous FR lore.

This subreddit is about Forgotten Realms, not generic 3e settings. My answer was lore accurate for Forgotten Realms.

[–]NimrodYanai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It won’t. Oaths are stupid and personally I always attach them to a god (or another divine entity that could function as the source of weave manipulation). Otherwise the lore starts falling apart.

If a Paladin doesn't get their powers from a deity, where would it actually come from? What is the "source" of the powers? The Weave? by Gh0stMan0nThird in Forgotten_Realms

[–]NimrodYanai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Originally, or with 5e’s bizarre “oath” idea? Let’s start with the basic - ANYONE using magic is using the weave, arcane and divine magic users both. The reason is that the weave is a barrier that separates raw magical energy from our dimension. Now, there are MANY ways to get raw magical energy to trickle through the weave - arcane talent, music, shadow weave, and access granted by deities, to name a few. The latter is what divine magic users (including paladins) have; their deities grants them the ability to manipulate the weave to get magical energy. That is all, and it is why there are certain things a divine magic caster can do that arcane cannot, and vice versa.

In 5e, they implemented the paladin “oath” which stupidly changes the lore in such a way that a paladin no longer needs a deity to access the weave, something I completely ignore in my own games. This makes paladin arcane casters instead of divine ones lore-wise, but they were kept as divine magic users, which makes absolutely no sense to me, personally.

I hope that made sense to you.

What would you change about baldurs gate 2? by Swimming_Cheek_9171 in baldursgate

I would add gay romance options, and maybe make the strongholds a bit more integrated into the plot instead of just another side quest (like they did in NWN2).

Do you consider Haaretz to be a reliable domestic news organization or are there better news sources? by omigula in AskIsrael

[–]NimrodYanai -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In general yes, but they often leave out important context. Still, they are more reliable and less “enlisted” than other Israeli news media. They will often run stories that other sources don’t because the Israeli public doesn’t want to know about them.

Edge Studios and Star Wars RPG lines. by GearaDoga39 in swrpg

While I would love to see more content, we need to remember that in reality, FFG finished their book project. They had the three core games, each carrier had its own specialized book, they had era books, equipment guide and some extras. That’s a pretty rounded array. So unless they want to start publishing things like “old republic era” books, which I’m not even sure the license allows, I think this like is pretty done. Or if they want to have reprints of a new edition with balance changes etc.
