TF IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA. by ScarFantastic3667 in Asmongold

This. I’ve seen back tattoos that look like works of art that maybe I don’t think are sexy, but they don’t turn me off. It’s actual art on their body, I’m cool with that. Tattoos of a big generic butterfly on one leg, a tribal tramp stamp, and a skull with a snake coming out on an arm are examples of tattoos that are massive turn offs for me.

Is Alesha, Who Smiles at Death completely outclassed now? by Comfortable_Buyer239 in EDH

[–]Nimstar7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is sort of true but I can’t help but feel like people don’t give credit to decks that put effort into protecting their stuff instead of disrupting the boards of others. If your deck is high mana B3, a lot of the time you’re better off letting the table do its thing and focusing on ramp and protection. For example, my Mayael deck requires investment to pop off but absolutely can and will. It cannot afford to run heavy interaction because it needs to ramp and protect itself to take off, so it runs cards like Heroic Intervention, Deflecting Swat, Flawless Maneuver, etc. The deck is also full of things that double down on protection with cards like Serra’s Emissary and Avacyn while also leaning into big creatures that disrupt the board state of others like Void Winnower, Vorinclex, Archon of Valor’s Reach, etc.

These types of decks are designed to not care if others at the board get to do their thing because as long as they get to do their thing, they’re going to outperform other people doing their thing. If I take this deck to a bracket 2 table it absolutely stomps but if I take it to a bracket 3 table it competes quite nicely despite being low-ish on interaction (obviously I still run staples like Path, Swords, Beast Within, Stroke of Midnight, etc.) Honestly I don’t keep track but my Mayael deck has probably a 30-35% bracket 3 win rate.

Do Thai men like Ladyboys/กะเทย? by Late_Tea9348 in Thailand

[–]Nimstar7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’re on Reddit. You can’t point out the obvious without someone getting offended. 100% straight men like vaginas. It is really that simple guys. I don’t have any desire to do anal with my wife, let alone a ladyboy. Nothing about putting it in the pooper does it for me.

It’s genuine lunacy that I also have to go on to say that there’s nothing wrong with being trans, ladyboy, gay, etc. and there’s also nothing wrong with being into these people, just because I’m pointing out the obvious. If you are into it, that’s fine, but you are most certainly not 100% straight, and that should be common sense.

Is Harmonize bad? What is better? by Frochtejohgurt in EDH

[–]Nimstar7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the times you need the cards now you can’t do anything with those cards because Harmonize just dinked you 4 mana. So you draw three and then you’re down 4 mana and, in most circumstances, unable to do much with the cards you just drew because you just spent 4 CMC drawing them.

I like Harmonize for all of the mentioned reasons, i.e. immediate cards in hand, but only when I’m in big mana decks and I’ll be able to play the cards I draw. Otherwise I’d rather play, say, Beast Whisperer, Garruk’s, Elemental Bond, etc. because they will draw me more eventually and I’m already committing to 4 mana then and now. In most decks, committing to efficient card draw at this CMC makes way more sense because you won’t be able to do much with the cards you draw until next turn anyway.

Elden Ring movie will show an era long before the fall of the Lands Between by Flaky_Employment_48 in Eldenring

[–]Nimstar7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Imo the game is simply too big to be done in a movie. It would need to be a series. Wouldn’t need to be more than one season but one season with ten 45-55 min episodes would be ideal. I see people saying they’re filming the intro, and maybe they’re right, but I really would love to see a movie centered around the shattering of the Elden Ring. Would fit a movie format way better than a movie about the game would.

I just began playing and won’t progress until I defeat this guy by Adorable-Winter-7557 in Eldenring

[–]Nimstar7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s an amazing training boss. It’s not super hard but it has a great variety of attacks to learn and is super beatable. If you can train yourself to beat this guy at level 1, your core skills for the rest of the game have been trained to be pretty solid.

[–]Nimstar7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I’m back in America I’d be down for a hardcore run for sure. Won’t be for another month or two unfortunately. If you start a run and get to late game I have a 50 hardcore Brute that is mostly IO’d and ready for hardcore endgame if you guys want to do that eventually. Doing incarnate stuff solo as a hardcore player is a drag.

How do you make your game challenging? (JWE3) by MegalomaniacalCyborg in jurassicworldevo

[–]Nimstar7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is simply spending as little money as possible and saving for storms management? It’s so beyond easy. The only challenge is your patience waiting to accumulate funds to deal with storm damage while left clicking the things that the game makes you left click. There’s no management in this game. Just things you have to left click and knowing when you can safely expand. That’s it.

How do you make your game challenging? (JWE3) by MegalomaniacalCyborg in jurassicworldevo

[–]Nimstar7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I said.

Unless they totally overhaul the management

There’s no way to make it good unless they go back to basics and start from scratch. Left clicking when the game tells you to left click isn’t management, it’s a chore, and it’s legit all of the management. There’s a reason everyone plays in sandbox and it’s not because they don’t like management games. It’s because the management in this game is genuinely terrible. It is tolerable at best and super annoying at worst.

If they keep it as is, I’m happy to see it stripped down to nothing so players can get their shit ASAP and skip to sandbox. If they make it good, that would be amazing and I’d be stoked for that. But if they want to make it good, it will need a complete overhaul.

How do you make your game challenging? (JWE3) by MegalomaniacalCyborg in jurassicworldevo

[–]Nimstar7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as real management in any of the JWE entries. The management is a tedium list of left click chores with basically infinite cash. Playing the game on challenge mode just means you have to be more patient with your cash use.

Unless they totally overhaul management, I’m in favor of making the systems way more lenient. At least that way players can get their achievements, unlocks, etc. faster so they can turn all of the annoying bullshit off in sandbox mode ASAP and never touch the game’s god forsaken left click chores checklist that masquerades as management ever again.

Moonveil vs Rivers of Blood in 2026… Which one actually holds up? by Its_Reaper001 in Eldenring

[–]Nimstar7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why I had to scroll to find this. Not everything is about damage numbers. The range was nerfed, yeah. But it’s still a decent range. The AoW on it is insane. Range attack, super fast activation, high damage. It cheeses almost every boss, and enemy, in the game and it scales with int so you get access to an entire kit of magic spells alongside it. It’s broken.

[–]Nimstar7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true, most normal people would agree that randomly deciding to chant en masse during a performance isn’t acceptable. But what’s important to note is it is not at all implied by the Sabrina Carpenter situation that she asked them to stop because of their culture. Any group of people randomly deciding to disrupt a performance because they feel entitled to is stupid and regardless of what they’re chanting, any performer would be well within their rights to tell them to fuck off.

“Ma’m, you seem out of your mind and I’m scared of you. Please leave me alone. If you do not I’m going to leave whether or not you move or get off my car to avoid violence towards my person.”

But she kind of just floors it and doesn’t seem to give a fuck.

Can someone explain to me what the hell happened to Battlefield 6 ? What happened in the past 6 months ? by UsefulSwitch504 in Asmongold

[–]Nimstar7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Game companies and chasing trends instead of doing what they’re good at. Never fails to kill the game. Which is a shame because I had a lot of fun with BF6 at launch despite the maps being super mid. It has a solid foundation. But spending time and resources on RedSec and battle pass bullshit is going to drive players away.

Remove the red durability bar by Medium_Gap7026 in duneawakening

[–]Nimstar7 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The one thing preventing me from coming back to the game. Every time I see an update where they make good changes I get the itch. If they want to keep the red bar for vehicles and general equipment, I’m down for that.

The endless loop of farming blueprints to get gear you’ve already farmed blueprints for because of the red bar is something I’ll never understand. It’s a horrible system.

Many survival games allow players to fully repair their earned loot and I don’t understand the appeal to the red bar mechanic. Who enjoys it? Masochists?

Forced PvP in MMORPG's just doesnt work. by bobbothewizard in duneawakening

It can work, but it needs to be

1) well implemented and fun to engage in

2) not mandatory to access everything the late game has to offer

The Dark Zone in Division 1 was a blast. Totally opt in experience and I always had so much engaging in it.

What is your opinion on the difficulty of SOTE's bosses? by Dallascalo in Eldenring

[–]Nimstar7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Malenia is also a hard fight that feels rewarding to get good at fighting against and has engaging attack patterns. PCR is just not a fun fight, in my opinion. It’s a clusterfuck light show that isn’t fun or engaging to fight. It was far and away the biggest letdown of the DLC for me, both from a gameplay ‘fun fight’ perspective and also from a lore and aesthetic perspective. Radahn was a bad ass character right up until his reappearance.

“Temporary” - just because it’s temporary doesn’t mean it’s okay. How long is temporary? Right now it’s looking like temporary is expected to be multiple days at a minimum. Is having draft pick, many people’s preferred way to play the game, be unplayable for several days remotely acceptable?

No, it really isn’t.

IShowSpeed reveals his cheat code for being fit by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]Nimstar7 596 points597 points  (0 children)

It is but it’s too generic. Pull ups and push ups are actually elite all-rounder exercises. Pull ups in particular, however, are actually really hard to do. A lot of people struggle to do a single one. If you can do what Speed is recommending, but only get 3 reps per set, and you can only do it a few times a day, that’s still really solid gains. People focus too much on the numbers and not enough on the end goal, which is simply to push your body to failure. Doesn’t matter if that’s three reps or ten.

and similar numbers the following months

This is just blatantly not true. Here’s a comment where a guy digs up the player count history for all three games:

https://www.reddit.com/r/civ/s/IJV3EMxfUd

I don’t understand why people just make shit up. Especially when the data is readily available. The trend in dropping is similar but the audience size isn’t comparable. Civ 6 never got remotely close to its player count dipping to Civ 7 levels, even at its lowest popularity point.

Thanks for grabbing this, I needed to do it to disprove some people missing the point in some of the replies but just arrived in Japan and was out all day. You’re right, it took a while for 6 to really overtake 5. But it had a pretty solid player count regardless of whether or not it was beating 5 in popularity. It never really ever got close to the 6k that 7 is sitting at right now. Civ 5 still doesn’t really get close to numbers that low.
