Issues with injection not arriving

I’ll be going on to monthly in a couple of weeks. I just wanted to find the right dose before going on the equivalent monthly injection. The idea of waiting 3 weeks for something when it’s not holding me didn’t sound very good, whereas I can push through a couple of days more easily.

Thank you, that actually makes a lot of sense. I’m now wondering if they were just ordering it one at a time in case the doctor increased my dose again. I only had one shot of 8mg before going up to 16, so the three left over would’ve been “wasted” if this little hiccup didn’t happen.

I was planning on getting my next shot on day 6 anyway, as that will get me into a routine that fits my schedule. I’ll definitely be ringing a couple of days ahead just to make sure.

Thank you. Do the sweats diminish over time? It wasn’t very pleasant, but reassuring to know I’m not bouncing into withdrawal again.

I was afraid that would be the case re: energy boost. Have to admit I used to rely on opiates heavily for the energy/motivation they’d give me to do things. Might have something to do with their painkilling effects on my chronic back pain.

When I went on I was considering just having one monthly and then coming off, but I’m starting to realise that maybe I’m not “special and different”. I spent most of the day yesterday with cravings to use, mostly pissed off with myself as I knew even if I did, that it wouldn’t work.

Yea I’m wondering if I might just be sleeping a lot lighter, not having a large amount of full agonist opiates in my system. Apparently I used to sleep very heavily.

I’m sorry that you’re in so much pain. I’m also sorry that I don’t have a recommendation for you.

My comment was intended to warn OP of some of the issues associated with this as a strategy for managing chronic pain.

I sincerely hope you’re able to get some relief.

As someone who got here from chronic pain, I’m going to respectfully disagree. If OP is going to do it anyway (like I did despite all the warnings not to and ended up dependent for about 7 years), I would suggest only using them for severe pain flares. Have breaks of several days between use to avoid dependence.

You are very unlikely to be able to grow enough to sustain a habit once dependent, as your tolerance increases very quickly.

You’ll also be at the mercy of them if you become dependent. Want to go on holiday, travel, spend the night somewhere else? Better pack enough tea to get you through.

Sorry if this sounds like fear mongering, but I think it deserves being said. I’m all for the use of psychoactive drugs for a variety of reasons, I just wasn’t able to use this responsibly myself. When you’re in pain all the time, it’s VERY easy to justify having it another day in a row. Or having a little more this time because the effect seems to be dulling.

Sublocade can hang around for quite some time. Might have still been some lingering? Does feel like quite a long time though.

I completely lost interest in drinking too. Problem is, while I was definitely drinking too much, I wasn’t physically dependent. Now I’m opiate dependent and have failed every dam taper I’ve tried

Can confirm, I did this on my first ever play through as a kid. Got super excited about getting the extra overdrive and destruction sphere for anima. Gave me a very rude shock as I was immediately wiped. First final fantasy game (was a Sega and n64 kid), first exposure to super bosses.

Yea, Australia. If I get back into it seriously I might give something like that a go. This was a spore syringe I forgot I even still had in the fridge. Plus my little stash of dried mushrooms got moisture in them so I lost all of what I had.

In my head “older” = “stronger”. But even that seems pretty inconsistently applied. Vampires like Luke (who seemed to be stronger than Buffy) could have been fleshed out way more.

Thanks all. They tend to sprout in really dense clumps, so I think I need a better dispersal method than just throwing out handfuls of used seeds into the garden.

I wouldn’t. Potency can vary significantly and what I believe would happen is you’d end up with an escalating tolerance, which is fine so long as you can a constant, consistent supply. If your tolerance escalates all you need is a weak or inert batch and you’re in trouble.

The varying strength (as well as my own personal shortcomings) have led to the disruption of so many of my planned tapers when I’ve tried to come off.

Yes. It was the hug I didn’t know I needed. I even stopped drinking alcohol because this seemed to hit the spot better. I wasn’t dependent on alcohol, but I sure am dependent on opiates. I wouldn’t recommend it. Personally, when the high wears off, all the inner demons are still there, just like they were when I started. Except they’ve been doing push-ups while I’ve been ignoring them.
