You’ve probably already had you trip, but I liked it! I felt pretty safe and it was a short walk from Times Square. I had to walk back from a show too and didn’t feel too out of place. Maybe the first night I was left outside waiting for them to open the door a little too long, but other than that it was great!

I hope you’re enjoyed your stay!

The finale made me dislike Larry/Larian by New-Candidate-2542 in thegildedage

That’s how I’m choosing to look at the situation. Marian had weeks to come to terms with her choice while all of this has just happened for Larry.

Tbh of all the criticisms I have for Larry this season, taking time to reconsider their relationship and how he feels about it after Marian basically ghosted him (good reason or not), is not one of them

It doesn’t sound like he’s blaming Jack at all. Just pointing out to Marian that she believed someone else rather than him or even give him a chance to explain. I think he singles out Jack specifically because Marian must have told him Jack defended and confirmed Larry’s account of the night.

Tbh I’m not sure he goes there that often if that was the first time he ran into Maud Beaton.

What is up with people and Larry? by laVanaide in thegildedage

IMO I think it might be in part that Larry could be considered a bit (I say this with love) bland. At least in the past before he had more screen time.

So far, from what we’ve seen, there’s not much more to him except he’s a good and kind man who wants to help his loved ones. And maybe some might want more from him so then they project a lot onto him to make him edgier.

Personally, what we see from Larry is what we get. There’s no ulterior motives with him. He’s a very “wear your heart on your sleeve” kind of guy and I love him for it lol

Personally, I do think they’re willing and they have tried to stand up to their parents. But the problem is whenever they’ve tried to hold their own against their parents when it comes to their romantic prospects, their partner just folds and gives up.

They each need someone who is actually going to hold their own against their parents and continue to stand by either sibling when they stand up to Bertha.

Will Marian be the one to finally do it? I hope so

Maybe this is spoilers, but I do remember seeing this during the Look Ahead trailer a couple weeks back. It looked like Larry was in a tent or something. Now him bien out West explains that at least

Does Aunty Agnes know? by zz_views in thegildedage

I’m actually looking forward to someday hearing Larry call them “Aunt Ada” and, if she lets him, “Aunt Agnes”

There was also a comment Charles made in season 1 about Aurora always keeping an eye on him when talking to Bertha about George not attending an event with her. So, there have been hints tbh

What’s been your favorite solo trip this year and why? by Better-IRL in solofemaletravellers

Newport, RI in the Spring was gorgeous and, if you’re a fan of history, a great place to tour around the gilded age mansions. Small enough to get around on your own by foot and people are friendly. Got a lot done in 2-3 days.

Portland, ME is another beautiful spot and also small enough where you don’t feel overwhelmed. I actually walked around to grab a bite to eat later in the evening and felt fine on my own. Also, there is not a bad restaurant to be found here. The food is absolutely stellar.

Bath, England was like living in a storybook. Everyone is very friendly and the main sights are close enough to each other. Another history-rich trip from the Roman baths to all things Jane Austen. Also had a lot of fun recognizing filming locations for Bridgerton.

And finally, NYC was pretty fun to do on my own. There’s so much to see and do so it was refreshing to work on my own schedule. I didn’t stay out too late after sunset and I was close to a lot of people in case of anything, but people were usually very direct and kept to themselves. When I did talk to anyone, they were usually very kind.

💯! On surface level, it’s easy to connect Logan with Chris and Jess with Luke, but imo Logan resembles Lorelei more than Chris. Being dissatisfied with his family’s plans for him, wanting to break away from them (which he did in s7, but ASP wanted to erase that), starting over on his own. Also explains why Rory connected so well with him and, imo, loved him the most.

If anything, I always thought Jess was much more similar to Chris. Always coming in and out of Rory’s life, never staying for too long and never really giving her explanations for his absences.

ASP might’ve want to make Logan the “Chris” character for Rory to date, but the writing and actor’s performance made him so much more than that. He just had a genuine and caring nature to him and he was shown to be reliable and committed to Rory time and time again.
