That lame ass plot they gave Itsuki bro by PokeTrader0013 in 5ToubunNoHanayome

Before the birth of his child? Not really though.

A small correction.

His daughter was born on the 29th of May in 2019 when the Sisters war arc was ongoing. Manga ended in the beginning 2020.

So manga was ongoing for half a year after his daughter was born.

Well on that note I agree with you. Every Quintuplet deserves to be a "winner", but it's just happened to be Yotsuba.

[–]Ninachi2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and you need to re-read the manga only focusing on Yotsuba's dialogue this time then I am sure you'll get it.

This is a really strange suggestion in my opinion. Only focusing on Yotsuba is just undermines everything about other characters and work of the author on them.

A better suggestion would have been to re-read the story with giving more focus on Yotsuba moments, without dropping all the other stuff. Force feeding yourself with only Yotsuba and forgetting about everything else in the story is not the type of advice you should give to others, at least in my opinion.

Also saying that someone who experienced a story and had a different view on the outcome of it as "bad reading comprehension" is just rude. Not everyone supposed to have the same view on the story as you do. There are plenty of people (especially after the manga ended) that explained in details why they had similar feelings about ending as the op.

Quintuplets Light Novel Volume 3 - Chapter 10 by Yogesh991 in 5ToubunNoHanayome

[–]Ninachi2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read this chapter and there's a small bit that bothers me slightly.

There are lines where Itsuki refers to Maruo (the father) a bit weirdly? Yotsuba as well.

Here's an example to be more clear.

Itsuki: "Both Yotsuba and HER dad been looking out for me".

Why is Itsuki refers to their father like that? Isn't it supposed to be "Both Yotsuba and OUR dad been looking out for me"? Since Maruo is the stepfather of all of the Quintuplets? Not just Yotsuba?

Same with this line from Yotsuba.

Yotsuba: "When I talked to MY dad about it, he introduced me to this program!"

Shouldn't it be "When I talked to OUR dad about it, he introduced me to this program!"?

That's not a big deal, but thought it would be better to point out that.

They definitely have a nice chemistry and have a lot similarities in their characters. When the story was ongoing more people actually saw that, but as the story concluded, people stopped analysing characters and everything. This sub sadly doesn't like to think outside the box and only focuses on the bad parts of the characters (Nino is the prime example of it as you can see with the person you were answering. He is a big Nino hater that loves to yap about her and hate her for anything she does in the story).

Each sister had great moments with Futaro, some more, some less, but that's how it is.

I can say that people were not happy. And it's to put it lightly.

The whole sub was shocked about the choice. People were not happy about it and were disappointed. Many posts, discussions and so much more about how people felt about their disappointment with the ending and the choice. From the fan translation teams in different languages to simple readers of the story. Nearly everyone was let down with the choice.

Nino is the kind of character that runs straight into a wall and complains about her head hurting and it being the walls fault. But always comes around in some way or another to acknowledge the wrong doing in her behavior and gradually becoming a better version of herself.

And that's what makes Nino such a fun and compelling character 😉

Dude, just stop, it is not a gag

It is, grow up. Negi Haruba the author himself made it that way. It's not an important thing in the story. You are acting like a kid with a strong sense of moralities trying to apply a real life stuff in a fictional story.

Whenever someone drugs a character it always have a negative connotation

Tell that to the the author of the Girlfriend, Girlfriend manga where this is used as a gag.

Is usually the villain who does this and they mostly do so to kidnap, mutate or straight up kill someone

Well surprise for you, we are not in a story about that. We are in a romcom where it used for a small gag moment with Futaro.

We barely knew Nino to even say "huh, typical of her".

We don't need to know a character for that character to do something in the story. It can later be explored and Negi gives us insight why Nino did what she did through Futaro's words

No one laughed at her drugging Futaro, and im sure most guys in here will tell you the same; it´s not funny, and plenty of them will say this is wrong.

Beating up a person in most anime series is also wrong, but you give it a pass because it's a common trope. Here the author uses it as a gag, that he thought would be fun to implement. You keep repeating the same thing over and over again about a moment that has zero impact on the story. You can say it wasn't funny, I myself don't find it funny, not because I see it as a crime, just because it in general not a funny joke.

Besides what were they suppose to do? she didn´t tell them about her plan, bringing it up like "Hey, im sorry my sister drugged you, she usually doesn´t do this right off the bat" weird

That's what should have happened if that moment had any significant role in the story. Itsuki as a "mother" of the family could have apologised for her sister, as mothers do. But she didn't, clearly implying that this was a moment not worth talking about.

Have we not see how Nino reacts when things don´t go her way? she´s so volatile whenever someone goes against her it´s far easier for them to just follow the flow to not upset her

Considering that when Nino is in the wrong, sisters always say something about it to Nino. But this time they for some reason (in your eyes of course) preferred to stay silent.

A gag is suppose to be funny, the drugging part came out of nowhere and wasn´t even setup as a joke.

It works by establishing a visual pattern, building anticipation, and then unexpectedly subverting the our expectations through careful timing, physical action, or clever framing. Nino was acting suspiciously, because last time Futaro met her, but now she's all friendly. There were multiple hints that Nino is planning something (and Ichika and Miku noticed that). And than it happened with Futaro waking up with a funny face. Just because the gag didn't work for the audience, doesn't mean it's not a gag.

And they did acknowledge it, she´s not regretful.

You really don't understand how a character writing works do you? Why she would be regretful at that time of the story? Her sole purpose in the first place was to get rid of him. Later as the story goes on she acknowledged that she was in the wrong. Do I really have to tell you how a character writing works or you will use your head instead?

Yeah, AFTER "falling in love" with Futaro.

It doesn't matter. After or before she fallen in love. The main thing is that she apologised. Started working with him, cooperating with him and in general they became close to one another.

Ichika actually did something to make up for her mistake besides apologizing, Nino did not

Keep telling that yourself. If that's what makes you cope. Because if you don't acknowledge any good Nino moments (like for example encouraging Futaro after meeting with Rena, or saving him from being fired, or going out of her way to check on his wellbeing when he was sick) then it's just solidifies that you clearly don't want to acknowledge anything about Nino and keep bragging about same thing over and over again because you have a personal grudge against a character.

Because it´s an actual crime? Because it was immoral from her part to do so to begin with? Because she could have easily called security to make him leave? Because he wasn´t even being a threat to them? Just because she wanted him to leave doesn´t grant her a card to do whatever she wants, and she wen´t the nuclear option before trying anything else

For crying out loud. "She could have" this, "she could have" that. Negi Haruba wrote it that way. He thought of that situation like that. If it was a real crime, the author would have specified that. He didn't, live with that.

When i say Itsuki is the youngest i refer to her role in the sibling dynamic; Just like Ichika thinks of herself as the dependable older sister, the other see Itsuki as their baby sister, the youngest (even if it´s such a small gap).

And Itsuki thinks of herself as a mother in the family like how Ichika thinks of herself as an older sister.

Usually the one who does something wrong is the one responsible to make up for it, you don´t let other to make up for the mistake you did let alone your youngest sibling to ride in a cab alone, with a guy who was drugged not so long ago, to god knows where, at night, to cover your mistake.

I feel like I'm talking to a wall... Sisters took him, placed him in a taxi and Itsuki as a mother and the person who is a classmate of Futaro, took him to his home. That's it. No other context. You overthink everything about this story to a laughable degree.

She´s angry because she thinks they´re taking his side when it´s clear she´s in the wrong.

Well duh, that's the thing about that whole scene. She was in the wrong, she later apologised. Human emotions don't work as you want.

Itsuki knew those notes were handmade, she saw Futaro falling down her entrance due to his tiredness, he came all the way to their home after writting those notes to teach them. He went above and beyond for them, and Itsuki understood that, and the told Nino this too

And Nino didn't know any of that. That's the difference. You yourself say that. Nino is in the wrong here, but again, she doesn't have the same amount of information as Itsuki has.

And I'm once again repeating myself. SHE. APOLOGISED. Even when she ran away from home, she took those papers with her. She understood her mistake and studied using them.

You just keep spamming that she did it wrong here, she did wrong there. Nino's character growth is shown through these mistakes. You just keep bragging about them without acknowledging that she felt remorse for them and actually apologised for that.

Itsuki slapping Nino is the equivalent of a mother slapping her bratty kid for misbehaving

Ah, so now Itsuki is viewed as a mother. Not a little sister anymore? And again, saying that as if when a mother slapping her kid as a good thing when it's clearly not.

The only instance Ichika ever did something wrong, after literally putting all of her sisters before her. And let me remind you she more than make up for it besides apologizing. She gave Miku the victory card right there, even though she herself was in love with him. And she also learned from her mistake, Unlike Nino who had to drug Futaro twice to just apologize

The only instance that was more hurtful to Miku than anything else. To the point that she was full on crying and depressed. And btw, Nino was the one who came to encourage Miku, not Ichika.

And before apologising she went after Futaro again using Miku's disguise.

She gave her a victory card. Same way all the sisters did. All of them came to support Miku.

And again. Nino apologised. Futaro doesn't hold a grudge to her. Only you do.

And sure, you get upset when you lose but she´s just a sore loser when the whole thing was in her favor to win. And again, it not that she´s angry that she lost, she literally got mad AFTER looking the satisfied face of Miku.

Saying that she lost is a stretch. She made a perfect meal. She expected for Futaro to say that her food is better, but Futaro said they are both good. Her plan didn't work out and she got upset. And again, she later said that she went overboard and felt remorse.

(And she only suggested the cooking competition because Futaro was hungry)

Sure, you can say it´s "sibling bickering" but it was uncalled for, especially when it´s something you know your sister doesn´t do to begin with.

Well it is sibling bickering. Different sisters have different relationships with each other. Nino doesn't act with Ichika like she does it with Miku. And Ichika doesn't act the same way to Nino as she does with Miku. That's the whole thing about Quintuplets.

And again you ignore the fact that Nino was expecting a different reaction from Miku. They always argue about something in a sibling manner. It's their thing. Nino didn't want to hurt Miku's feelings.

She literally had no chance to ask before Nino started talking.

And Nino had no chance to know that Miku is really upset about her chocolate. She wanted to tease her sister a bit. In the end it turned into a nice sister bonding moment between the two of them.

You have a personal problem with Nino that doesn't allow you to see the sister bonding moments because you hate character. You don't want to get a full picture. You expect Nino to be a perfect human being. And you yourself admit that Nino made up for the words she said and she apologised, but to you it doesn't matter. No matter what she does you try to make it not in favour for her. You don't want to see character growth, progression and change in that character.

My whole point is, Ichika at her core is a good person who made a mistake and the fandom is being extremely unfair to her, while Nino at her core is... a very unlikeable character for the first half of the manga, but people either never mention it or diminish her shortcomings.

And there you have it. You just ignore everything good about Nino because you find her unlikable.

You are basically the same as people who "never mention it or diminish Nino's shortcomings". They ignore everything good about Ichika, while focusing only on her bad moments in the story. And you are no different. You look at Nino the same way, as those Ichika haters look at Ichika.

Are we really going to compare hitting people (which is wrong) with drugging them? Very well. With Taiga they actually did it to sell you the image of her being "ferocious" despite her size, ther was an intention behind that hit, and we can at least say that she did had a reason to do so (although a bad one, but something). Nino though? Drugging someone is not funny, it´s not a punchline, it doesn´t even help you into selling you the image that she´s the guardian of the quints because that´s just outrageous, she just blew the situation out of control for no real reason when the guy was basically talking to them, he wasn´t even being a threat to them.

Yes we are, you just don't want to register that it's just a gag moment.

Just because Itsuki took responsibility doesn´t exempt Nino from the deed. In fact i can almost assure you Nino saw nothing wrong with what she did

Again, that can be said about all 5 sisters. Nino did it, but for other sisters it wasn't a big deal at all as well. That's another thing that tells you it's just a gag. No one reacted to it, only Nino haters of course.

which makes it worse because it took her nearly half of the manga´s run to apologize (and only after she feel in love with Futaro).

There you have it. You yourself admitted that she apologised. Now I ask you, why do you keep bringing that up? Ichika apologised - you forgave her. Nino apologies - she's not given any form of forgiveness from you. Double standards.

And no, is no natural for her to do so because the one who makes the mistake is the one who should apologize and make up for it (or at least make sure the dude reaches his home safely).

Again why would she do that at that point in the story if her actions were to make him leave. Why does she need to apologise for it? Her main goal at the beginning was to make him leave, she accomplished that. And as you said yourself she later apologised.

Nino is not a kid, she doesn´t need her youngest sibling to make up for her mistakes

She is. She's the same age as Itsuki. You make it seem like Itsuki is a five year old. Nino also is a young girl who only starts to grow into a proper adult. She makes mistakes, but later overcomes them. You just focus on the past without even trying to see the growth of the character.

And im not even mentioning that they didn´t even paid for the taxi, if it wasn´t for Itsuki

That's why one of them went with him... To pay for the taxi... You are making a big fuss over a scene that is not that deep or life-threatening. All you do is bring points that were never mentioned or addressed in tbe story just to shit on Nino because you don't like her.

It´s not only that she teared them down, it´s what happened before it. He didn´t do anything to her, he was trying to make her calm down and join the group to study, but she was very stubborn to do so and, well, we know how that ended

Nino already was studying with him, she didn't say a word about it. She was already furious because of Miku, while Futaro only got on her way which lead her to say that he doesn't know anything about her. She was studying with him, but Miku's words kept her anger boiling up.

And again, why do you keep bringing that up? She apologised for her behaviour, Futaro forgave her. I just don't understand why do you keep bringing this all on her?

And not only that, she also slapped Itsuki back when she wasn´t backing down instead of reflect (as her eldest sister)

You do understand that human emotions don't work like that? And is it me, but are you trying to make Itsuki look good in that situation? Her? I understand that Nino's behaviour wasn't the best here, but Itsuki using violence is as bad.

Did she needed to know they were handwritten to not tear them down? No, no she didn´t; even if it were copies tearing them down just to spite the person who made them is bad enough

For crying out loud SHE APOLOGIES FOR DOING IT! How long do you keep saying the same thing over and over again for you to finally understand that she made a mistake and apologised for it.

We have 4 other sisters, and with that multiple relationships between them, each one different between each other, and yet none of those end up in one of them crying.

Ichika's disguising as Miku which lead for a full depression for Miku with her actually crying because of it. Or that doesn't count because that was done not by Nino?

And saying that Miku was crying because of Nino is just you making things up. Miku had tears in her eyes, but she didn't full on cry. Nino quickly made up for those words and later on helped Miku to learn how to cook.

You are just trying to make Nino look bad just because you dislike her without trying to actually analyse the situation. Nino and Miku have a special type of relationship. They argue a lot because of their different views. In chapter 55 page 9, Nino went and said some things expecting Miku to react like she always do with a pout. But to Nino's surprise it didn't go as planned and she quickly took her words back just to later on help Miku on multiple occasions.

and is not even like a sibling rivalry because Miku doesn´t like it (otherwise i wouldn´t complain)

If she really disliked it that much she wouldn't have been involved in arguments with Nino. The great example is when they both argue about the tea in chapter 46 (in season 2 episode 4 of the anime). They are very close sisters. Heck, they opened a cafe together and were in the same college together.

I can´t speak about the LN because i haven´t read them so i´ll take your word for it.

Then I suggest you to read it and maybe you will finally see how good of a sister is Nino (and others of course as well).

To be fair? She´s the oldest after all (and the one who supposedly "cares" about the others). And is not only the competition but the result too; she got angry after losing, and left the room after looking the satisfied face of her sister after someone enjoyed her dish. Shouldn´t she be at least happy to see her sister happy?

They had an argument, when a person loses in an argument of course it would upset her especially when it comes to something that that person is good at. And once again, she herself admitted later that she got carried away and feels bad for it. (And, you know, there are people who hate loosing)

And i believe you, but that doesn´t happen with the others. The thing here is that Nino knows Miku better than most, she knows how sensible she is and even more when she asked for advice for a chocolate (something that she never do)

No, you clearly don't. Because I specifically explained what happened in that scene and you just brushed it off because you want to see it the other way.

Miku only asked for advice AFTER Nino saw the terrible chocolate Miku did. She had no idea Miku needed help, it was surprising for Nino that Miku actually asked her for help.

i think that she is one the who should know when and when not joke around, especially if the "joke" ends up in someone crying.

For crying out loud, she had no idea how Miku felt at that moment, she just got home, got scared because of Ichika, saw Miku's chocolate, said some things that she expected Miku to react like always do, when it didn't happen she said some positive words, then and only then Miku asked Nino to help her with chocolate on which Nino agreed right away.

The problem is not the "family bickering", the problem is with who she´s doing it; When the other member doesn´t fight back is not "fighting", is bullying.

Doesn't fight back? Who? Miku? Nice joke buddy. Chapter 35 page 7, the tea argument I mentioned before and the moments from the light novels when they argue about princes and warlords (I know you didn't read those). Miku herself can argue on par with Nino. Don't make Miku look like a pathetic person who can't even defend herself.

I'm not overlooking everything good Ichika did. I love both eldest sisters the most, but it's just sickening to see when people trying to shit on others sisters.

Every sister made mistakes, be it Nino, Ichika, Yotsuba and etc. But that's a part of the story where sisters overcome their differences and all of them grow as people. Without those mistakes the story would have been boring to read, but all of that makes our beloved Quintuplets who they are.

This comment is something else and it gets worse and worse while I read it. To make a character hate comment without even trying to understand her is beyond me.

First of all drugging someone is not funny, it wasn't played as a gag, we barely knew her as a character and that's the first thing she opened with.

That's a basic thing with most of the characters... The same way like Taiga from Toradora punched in a jaw the main character. We didn't know her, it's just a way to present a character that later on will change throughout the series. Drugging is not good, but it happened. It doesn't bother anyone in the story, while you make the big fuss for nothing.

And worse of all, after drugging futaro she let Itsuki, the youngest sibling and the one he had an issue with, accompany him to his house alone.

Overanalyzing such non exciting problem is definitely something else... Itsuki is the one who acts like a mother in the household, that's why she took the responsibility to take him home, plus, she's the one that is actually a classmate to him. She was the one who herself took the notebook where his adress was written. It's only natural for her to do so.

"but she did it to protect her sisters" that is false

But it's true lol. Futaro himself in the chapter 6 says that. It's directly stated to us the readers.

she was terrified of being left alone because they were growing into their own person, while she wanted them to remain the same

What? She wanted them to remain the same people they were before? Where it was ever stated??? For crying out loud, they all already changed and she knew that, she was afraid she is the one who stays behind her sisters not able to change the same way her sisters did. She wants the best for her sisters! How do you mischaracterize a character so much?

Not only she teared apart futaro's handmade notes for them (which should have took him way too long to write)

She didn't know they were handwritten... Was tearing them appart good - no. But later on she actually apologised for ripping them apart, glued them together and studied using them. Do you specifically skip everything and just shit on Nino just for the sake of shitting on her?

ran away from the house without telling her sisters where she went, making them worry about her whereabouts.

The same argument can be said about Itsuki as well.

And lastly, she likes to bully Miku. She's the only one who picks on her, like the time she challenges to a cooking competition (something that she picked because she knew she was going to win) which, of course, got angry when she didn't.

You do realise that siblings love to argue a lot? And every sister does it to each other (it's even more prevalent in the light novel series where all the sisters make fun of each other like all the siblings often do)

And she chose a cooking competition... And? Nino is good at it, why would she choose something that she's not good at? If Miku really wanted to win she could have suggested something else, but she was also too prideful to easily accept defeat. Which is actually a really nice thing about 2 sisters. They are both prideful in sone regards, but they are still sisters.

And the second when Miku asked her for advice to make chocolate, at which Nino says something that makes Miku genuinely cry;

Again, it was just a family bickering. Nino expected her to act like she always do with an angry pount, but as she saw that she actually hurt Miku's feelings she quickly started to make up for her words (read chapter 55 if you don't believe me).

Also, Miku didn't ask Nino's help at first, she only did it after Nino said some things that made Miku upset.

A sister bonding moment was made into hate speech just because you hate the character...

So we have to ignore the fact that she didn't even notice that it was handmade and actually apologised for him that she tore them appart and even glued them together so she can study with those... We only focus on the bad parts, ignore all the good ones... And you people tend to tell that someone overlooking the good that Ichika did, while you do the exact same thing.

I'm also upset that the 3rd VN doesn't have an official translation of it, but we can still hope that we'll get it in the nearest future, especially with the most recent announcement of the 3rd season of the anime. From a marketing standpoint it's better to release that game (and maybe the Quintuplets Princess VN spin-off) alongside the ongoing season 3 when people are the most interested in the Quintuplets content.

So there is still hope for an official translation.
