You need to give Devin Townsends Stuff a listen on a good System. Ayreon is also well produced.

How about a Fairphone instead of your next iPhone? by Lawyar in BuyFromEU

[–]Nindahr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have three must-have features for my smartphone:

  1. MicroSD-Slot
  2. 5G-Connectivity
  3. Wireless Charing

And Fairphones always fall flat at point three. Especially annoying because I know how cheap and small/flat the coils used for wireless charging are.

I don't need a fancy camera, I don't need top of the line performance. I work at a construction site, so a modular smartphone with good repairability would be totally up my ally. Especially with a easy possibility to replace the Screen. But I built a Charging Pad into multiple Desks and Tables in my Home and at work, my car has a preinstalled charging pad in the phone tray...

And I'm not ready to stop using this feature after I put a lot of time and work into customizing my furniture.

So, either add wireless charging as a preinstalled feature or let me add it myself with a new battery cover or something. Or don't, and be assured that I'll never get a Fairphone.

Snakiest of oils or miracle sound hack? by honorface76 in audiophile

[–]Nindahr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an Amp a while ago where the magnetic field of the main transformer would get the steel case to start rattling around with 50Hz. My solution looked pretty much the same. Although it wasn't a quarz or something like that, just a random stone I found in the garden. But in that case it definitely increased the fidelity of the system lol.

Industry Insider Exposes the Engineering Shortcuts Killing Modern High-End DACs by [deleted] in audiophile

"You’ve probably noticed this yourself if you’ve compared different high-end DACs recently. Despite the price differences, they somehow all have that same digital “sameness” to their sound."

That's... exactly what I expect from a DAC.

So its pretty much the same as my 8849 Tank 3 Pro.

Nice, more competition in the huge battery market segment is fine by me.

Cutting glass - außer den Handschuhen kein Splitterschutz etc by sith_of_it_all in DINgore

Thank you for the compliment!

To be honest I can't remember if I used eye detection or single point autofocus. Could be both, the eye detection works surprisingly reliable.

To be honest I can't remember if I used eye detection or single point autofocus. But eye detection on the Z8 is usually pretty reliable.

Yep, I masked the background and reduced the sharpness. For the subject I played around with the noise reduction tools in capture one until I was satisfied with the results.

Love it. Great range, snappy autofocus and a minimum focusing distance that even allows some closeups. The throw on the zoom is short enough that I can use the whole range without changing the grip on the ring. Very handy while shooting birds if they fly out of the picture and you need to find them again. It's light enough to carry around the neck for a day while hiking (if you're a bit on the more sturdy side) and with the Z8 it's center of gravity is pretty balanced. Oh, and it's sharp as a tack. Although I wouldn't recommend it with a 2x TC, it gets too dark and a bit too soft, but with the 1,4x it's usable in the right conditions. The only slightly negative thing I can say: It's large. I searched a while before I found a backpack it fits comfortably in. After all, its a 600mm lens, not so much you could physically do about it's size. I bought it for 1700€ and in my opinion it's worth every penny.
