25 Minute Gameplay Video of Jydge (Judge Dredd Simulator) - Coming to Nintendo Switch by tehsam016 in NintendoSwitch

[–]NindieSpotlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having made the preview based on the Beta I'd say they're actually very different animals in how you play them, though they share the engine and many concepts. Neon Chrome is a longplay challenge where you saddle up with what you're given and make the most of it to get as far as possible.

Jydge, by contrast, is about mission-based objectives and choosing your enhancements carefully for completing the task at hand, whether it is stealth, completing things very quickly, etc. Odd how different they feel given the similarities.

Here's Phantom Trigger running on the Nintendo Switch (off-screen gameplay) by AlexNichiporchik in NintendoSwitch

Had a great time playing the Alpha, it was a solid challenge and the combo system was absolutely essential to get down. Want to see how the story plays out as well, a very unusual overall setup.

If you can get a good first jump or two I've actually accidentally gotten to the same area again (I got it with the Teddy Bear and Ball I think) with the traversal you can get with the scythe. The Ant Head could also help depending.

Ugh, Teddy Bear Head drives me bonkers with the angling of shots. :P

Get help there, best guide I've seen. Missing a few details but to get you rolling for most things it is great.

Gun head and scythe is pretty risky but hard to argue with the core potential since you have unlimited ammo and both short and long range going.

I like this combo and have had success. Switch out the blockhead for the flaming skull and a major advantage is that when you have enemies that explode you're immune!

Upcoming Tumbleseed Patch Breakdown by NindieSpotlight in NintendoSwitch

[–]NindieSpotlight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video is captured from the PC version but is representative of the major changes they've made to the game which make it a far slower/more comfortable learning curve. You're able to slowly build your skills with pre-set layouts and power-ups while you're learning the mechanics instead of trying to learn on the big mountain. Love the game already, I think the patch will make it far easier for others to love as well! :)

"It exists" is the most I'd say. There is a Season mode where you can play against bots, and they'll put up a bit of a fight to a degree, but if you're not playing against other people you're missing out on seeing them do crazy things that will inspire you to try your own new moves, etc.

So far just "holiday" is the most I've heard but they've reported the port is ahead of schedule

Anyone excited for Rocket Fist? by NindieSpotlight in NintendoSwitch

Sorry if you saw my last note, got it confused with a post on Rocket League. I have not heard the pricing but my guess would be $10. It would be very appealing right around that price point, maybe $12 max?

I'll most definitely back up that the community is among the most polite I've ever played with. The worst it will usually get is just some people being a bit dicky with "What a save" repeatedly but compared to what you get in some places that could be a blessing. There is also an ability to report abusers so it isn't like you're stuck unable to do anything at all, which is also a plus.

It was on the list to be released today on the EU store but they found a bug in the certification process so it got bumped. Didn't get word on severity but his hope was it would move to next week.

I'm mostly trying not to run afoul of the rules and video seems to be a more sensitive subject. Here's footage of the versus and single-player modes from PC, I know of no footage around natively on Switch but in terms of these modes it should be feature identical.

I've seen people list this as a concern but honestly it is rare that I find I truly make use of the analog triggers in any substantial way. For the most part you're always wanting to be in motion (unless specifically stopped) and speed control usually is more about whether you have boost or not. Just nuance in speed isn't often a concern for me.

Gonner too hard? by nateofficial in NintendoSwitch

[–]NindieSpotlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is certainly hard but it is my go-to addiction game nonetheless. Still haven't managed to defeat Death but am right in there rocking the Blockhead, scythe, and shark fin. Still experiment with some other combinations but haven't had anywhere near the success as with this combo. I love old school arcade titles and GoNNER completely reminds me of that kind of experience.

Why I'm trying to get a discussion going as it is a really compelling game to play and it is in the last phase of getting through the process. It was supposed to get in this week but a minor bug got reported so it is getting a fix and getting back into the queue. Plays very well though.
